I'm thinking yes as I consider GM a "senior football operation position".

Obviously Riddick qualifies for this so this makes me think the interview with Raye III is legitimate. The Colts don't get good press on their GM'ing so I'm not sure what role Raye III played in that. Grigson could be out any day.

On Raye. Of course look at the entire picture but keep in mind he was with the Chargers for 17 years prior to being with the Colts for the past 4. Also keep in mind that unlike many people in the game today, he oversaw both their pro personnel and college scouting departments. I'm not saying that doesn't necessarily come with its detriments, but it's something that many people highlight on his resume. He also has a little bit of position coach and salary cap managing experience, too.

I'm not even saying I'd be happy with him because his tree and overall make up isn't what I generally tend to favor but he has been a popular name for a lot of people because he has an interesting history compared to a lot of guys who have taken a more traditional career path.

This is the type of story that likely has so many connected parts that it's probably not presented in a way that it should be to nail down the accuracy. I would almost guarantee it. MDS kind of alludes to that at the end but some people will become more outraged over it than they should be IMO.

I will say, if the Prescott rumor is true, it really stings. We took Robinson two spots before Prescott, Blair seven spots after Prescott, and Theus three spots after that. Three picks within 12 of Prescott. Robinson and Blair look like pretty promising players, but it seems pretty likely we could have landed Robinson where we took Blair, and Blair where we took Theus. Theus is just a guy at OT IMO, though maybe he proves me wrong.

Neither am I. Shaw's the best name out there IMO. But since there aren't a lot of GM options out there, the thought of a Caserio / McDaniels combo' is starting to grow on me (as long as they don't try to bring Jimmy G with them). I'm not as convinced Riddick would be a good GM as you are.

Rumors going around saying that the Chargers would prefer their new HC retain OC Ken Whisenhunt and the entire offensive staff.

If that's true depending on how rigid they are with that desire, it would definitely diminish the appeal for that job in the eyes of potential candidates. The huge question of where is the franchise going to be located moving forward is also likely to be viewed as a detriment to that job.

Regarding a potential Caserio/McDaniels/Garroppolo trifecta, obviously McD and Caserio are highly familiar with Jimmy G, so if they feel he is worth whatever NE would require to take him along with them, I'd be fine with it. NE will not get #2 for him, that just won't happen.

Obviously Garropolo has a grasp of McD's offense, so that would be one less hurdle to clear with bringing in a new regime/QB. Also, I'm not personally real high on any of this draft's QBs, and like Jimmy G a lot better than them. Again, the familiarity of all three of those guys with each other can't be understated. So if that ends up being what transpires, I think we should feel pretty good with getting Garroppolo. Basically what I'm saying is, it would signify much more if Caserio/McD grabbed Garroppolo as opposed to Wolf or Riddick getting him.

Then again McD endorsed Tim Tebow, lol

Doesn't Belichik have the last call on the draft/FA as well? And it's not like they drafted well in any case - Belichik's system and Tom Brady make up for a lot of hiccups upstream.

Despite the Brady and Gronk added value, he is a good OC. I hate to admit it. I like the plays and designs, Brady just makes everything work! So Idk if McDaniels value is amplified by HOF play...

I hope he has changed but we'll see.... I prefer his offense to that of Chip(although i like Chip's aggressive decision makings at times)
