I can be down with O'Brien.... i'd give him a shot here..... offense will certainly pick up...

He doesn't really excite me, but truth be told, I haven't paid a ton of attention to his offenses

John McClain a highly respected beat writer said they won't be firing O'Brien so I wouldn't bank on that.

I will say none of the candidates enamor me but McDaniels is probably my personal favorite of the bunch with Shanahan a close second.

Both I feel have a great grasp of today's offense in the league but I give McDaniels an edge because I feel failing as badly as he did as an HC the first time means he'll be that much more prepared and ready for a second HC job.

I can agree with this. However I still prefer Shanahan to McDaniels. I've kind of come to grips with a McDaniels though

Probably means Caserio isn't considering the job if McDaniels is tying himself to Riddick.

I said it a couple of days ago but McDaniels and Riddick are my prediction.

Riddick by all appearances from his statements on ESPN will take the job and if it lands McDaniels than York will pick Riddick.

And it's sounding like all McDaniels wants is a guarantee from York that he's fully on board with a rebuild which is something York will give him and likely do. You don't wipe the slate clean without committing to a rebuild (and have an excuse for one) and considering how much sunk cost he has with all the firings York isn't going to want to blow away any more money with firing people.

That was an early report but they never had a meeting scheduled with him. McDaniels pairs well with Riddick,Wolf and Paton though

He's not been interested in being a GM in the past, I just think he's not ready to leave NE

Also reports that candidates for the GM position are being advised by their personnel people to avoid 49ers opening.

I only see this applying to Caserio since Ballard was apparently blocked.

Alex Marvez also said 49ers would have been interested in O'Brien had he been fired which he will not be according to their owner.

If I were a betting man, I'd put my money on Riddick and McDaniels.

I have my fingers crossed still for Wolf Shanahan though.

Speaking of Shanny...weather prevented the Rams from flying out of Boston after their interview with McDaniels. So they missed their opp to interview Shanny until the Falcons are out.
