Sickness, I thought of you when I saw this article, as you've often claimed that Ryan only did well due to his receivers. Coincidentally, the year they are not doing well, he's not doing well, either. Just kidding about the coincidentally part.

Seriously though, if they're going to get the blame to the receivers here, they need to give the credit to the receivers before. I'm sure they do.

I saw that story, and I just rolled my eyes. I have no idea how the NFL media decides which QBs they want to undeservedly prop up and which ones they constantly trash. It's baffling.

Matt Ryan has had the best group of receivers in his career possibly in the history of the league. The man has Julio f'ing Jones. JULIO JONES!

I guess I was technically wrong to predict he was going to be a "bust" because he's lasted so long, but I still think he's a total sham. I got a kick of this thread title on the hoopla NFL board: Matt Ryan is a failure and a fraud

Former 49ers WR P.J. Fleck, who is currently the head coach at Western Michigan, just beat Middle Tennessee 45-31 to help earn WMU's first ever bowl win.

I don't know how many people there were back in the day on some other well known message boards who remember Fleck and the talk that went on about him but those were some pretty amazing times with everything that surrounded him while he was a 49er. A fair number of smart people I've talked to think he has a very promising future coaching career.

The only NFL game I ever attended had Cody Pickett playing QB and throwing to PJ Fleck if memory serves correctly. The Niners got stomped by the Bills something like 43 to 3. Jeff Ulbrich was talking to the Bills' players before the game, and I got the impression that he was the kind of guy who could do well in coaching.

That was to be expected.

A coach's career is made or broken largely on what QB they get (See Bill Belichick). Chip gambled on craptatsic Bradford, and he paid the price.

I heard a report yesterday that the Eagles owner wanted to take personnel responsibilities away from Chop Kelly and Kelly refused so the owner just canned him.

Bradford in a zone read system is a joke. Terrell Suggs basically told him so in the preseason.

Still light years better than Landry Jones, and Tyler Bray. Had we have Bradford as our QB in 2012 and 2013 we would have been winners of 2 SBs.

Jason La Canfora:

Giants college scouting director Marc Ross will interview for the Titans GM position. He's been under consideration for several jobs

No worse than a top 2 or 3 name that's still available IMO.

Ravens just lost yet another quality coach. Colts hired their LB coach Ted Monachino to be their new defensive coordinator, who is replacing Greg Manusky.

And Bucs GM Jason Licht will have control of the 53 man roster now. That's a pretty big development for everybody looking for a HC this year.
