I wonder how similar Shanahan's offense is to what he played under with the Packers.

Has to be pretty similar?

He's from Palo Alto so I don't know if he'd be interested in ending his careers in the Bay Area but whenever he came here to play the 49ers, he really was squawking at the 49ers players.

Vikings not franchising Darnold. Could be a nice cheap get for us.

Even if they don't franchise him, Darnold is unlikely to be cheap.

He is going to end up with the Raiders or Giants or a couple of other teams

I'm pretty sure LaFleur's system is pretty close to Shanahan's since he was very much apart of that Shanahan clique before they got their head coaching jobs.

I'd say Shanahan's version of the offense specializes in the run whereas McVay's version specializes in the pass and I think LaFleur comes out in between and maybe his probably leans a little closer to Shanahan's than McVay's

They will regret not tagging him once they realize that JJ is just a game manager with a strong arm. Not a franchise QB.

I rather tagged Sam than pay Purdy 50+ mil per.

Adams has already listed SF as a place he's like to go.

However For him to become a 9er, he'd first have to be waived by NYJ, pass through waivers, and then be willing to come in on a discounted contract. The first 2 parts of that equation aren't hard to envision, but that last part is pretty unlikely.

I’d take either over Purdy. At least those guys are blue bloods.

Could be a nice way to get Rodgers here as well.

Cant see it happening especially given Lynch's comments about age and cost

The Vikings were talking about tagging Darnold until the old Darnold showed up at the end of the season and in the playoffs

I am not even sure what this has to do with anything? Because they went to big schools?

Not sure what blue blood means in this context, but only Purdy has consistently performed at a high level in the NFL.

Yep. As soon as the pressure mounted, Darnold fell apart. 18 points total in back-to-back must-win games (for the #1 seed, then the playoff game). Passer ratings under 80 in both games, and QBR under 17. Maybe he can shake that trend at some point, but I'd want to see it before paying him a lot of money.

Just laugh at these takes. JJ is better based on nothing. Has yet to take a snap in the NFL.

That high level went away when his weapons disappeared.

He'd work great as a 2 if we don't extend Purdy. That way we'd actually have a backup plan.

Rogers is not going to backup anyone in this point of his career. He is going to end up on a team that needs an instant starter

Return to San Francisco 49ers
