Hahaha. You panic about INTs in training camp when you have an unproven QB. That's not Purdy any more. He's established, he's shown he can take care of the ball (granted there is room for improvement there), and until he's coughing it up regularly in regulation, you don't worry about it at all.

Harry Palmer wrote:Jackson was a weird one because twice it went from gushing praise to he’s a long way away like overnight. Especially at last year’s camp everyone was drooling over how cut up he was and how lightning fast he was moving on the field, everyone seemed excited and then one day it was a 180, bust talk, he’s got issues, etc. One of the more confusing development stories we’ve had in a long time.

He can't play the run at all at this point. Pure pass rusher. Probably worse now that he has a leg injury and presumably can't do the most important lifts.

If he can use that elite bend and speed to be an impact pass rusher, that's fine, though something of a disappointment for a second rounder. But even that sure hasn't happened to date.

We cut Logan Thomas. He's been hurt, and we often do vets the courtesy of cutting them early in the process so they have time to catch on elsewhere. Still, that's disappointing. We're really thin at TE, and although Thomas isn't much of a blocker, it's hard to believe he wouldn't pretty easily be our second-best receiving TE. If Kittle were to go down, I have no idea what we do for a pass-catching threat.

Consider the source. His man crush in Dallas hasn't had a good camp. He can't even secure the second string job.

Looks like the Logan Thomas era is over

been watching the **** league for 20 years now and I've literally never, ever, remember a time when training camp interceptions have been as big of a deal as they are for Purdy.

wtf is going on? is the media that bored?

He did the same **** last year (Big J & Purdy) and Purdy was great. Our oline already was average with Williams, with him out and a host of other injuries on the oline it would be tough to do much.

One key difference between last season and now is that Purdy was still trying to regain his normal rhythm and timing last preseason as he was recovering from his torn UCL. Now Purdy has had the benefit of a full and normal off-season and thus is consciously trying to take more chances and is pushing the ball farther down the field. He stated that he is well aware that being more aggressive will result in more picks. My guess is that when the regular season begins, he will go back to being safer (more conservative) with the ball but hopefully will have more confidence in himself when he does take a few more shots down the field since he has been emphasizing that in preseason.

I'm not watching, but looks like it took precisely one kickoff for the new rules to bite us in the ass. Absolutely no surprise. That could be our Achilles heel this season. Very easy to imagine us dropping one or two games purely because we can't cover kicks.

How does our special teams coach still have a job???

Didn't get to really watch the first drive but I see a lot of people saying how good Puni looked. Really hoping he can take that RG job and run with it

Ambry Thomas has a broken forearm and will be out for some time. Time to find out which of the newcomers will take a step forward and move up on the depth chart while Thomas is mending.

The only people that he gets a rise out of are fanboys who can't be objective about the team.

He's mocked because he actually critiques the team and asks Kyle difficult questions.

The Niners have so many injuries they have cancelled the joint practices with the Saints this week. As of now the game on the weekend is still a go.

Sucks. But I guess it's better than getting more guys hurt. I don't think they can cancel the game.

Wasn’t sure about the game, cheers. Kyle’s gotta be pissed, he finds the games of little use but has been saying for years that the joint practices were the most useful part of training camp.
