Baker Mayfield - QB - Sooners

According to NFL Media draft analyst Lance Zierlein, some scouts are still not sold on Oklahoma senior QB Baker Mayfield as a potential NFL starter.

It's not a huge surprise, especially when you consider that Mayfield (6'1/220) wasn't high on my many draft boards to begin the year. Still, when you lead the FBS in completion percentage and have yet to turn the ball over, it says something. An area scout told Zierlein that he loved his toughness, but "wasn't sold on him being able to work the middle of the field and the intermediate routes. If you can't do that, it's hard to be an NFL starter." Zierlein sees Mayfield as a player who will go in rounds 4-7, but it shouldn't shock anyone if a team falls in love with Mayfield's style and takes him before the end of round two.

Baker Mayfield - QB - Sooners

ESPN's Todd McShay doesn't believe that Oklahoma senior QB Baker Mayfield possesses an elite trait to compensate for his lack of size, "like Russell Wilson's scrambling ability or Drew Brees' accuracy."

Even so, McShay continues to rank Mayfield ahead of Luke Falk and Lamar Jackson. He grades Mayfield as a Day 2 or early Day 3 pick. McShay's colleague Mel Kiper grades Mayfield slightly higher. "I ... see him bailing out of the pocket too much on film," he wrote. "Scouts would like to see him climb the pocket instead of scrambling, though he's fun to watch when he does. He's a Day 2 pick at this point." This year, Mayfield is 100-of-134 passing (74.6 percent) for 1,635 yards with a pristine 15/0 TD/INT rate.

Lamar Jackson - QB - Cardinals

ESPN's Mel Kiper doesn't believe that Louisville junior QB Lamar Jackson is a lock to be a first-round pick.

Kiper tossed out the possibility that a team could stash him on a redshirt year, like the Chiefs are doing with Patrick Mahomes. He did add Jackson to his Big Board about a month ago, an indication that Kiper himself views Jackson as a Round 1 talent. Todd McShay doesn't. He ranks Jackson as the class' No. 7 QB, behind Mason Rudolph, Baker Mayfield and Luke Falk. "I still need to see more from him before I'm comfortable moving him up," McShay wrote. McShay grades Jackson as a Day 2 or early Day 3 pick.

Luke Falk - QB - Cougars

ESPN's Mel Kiper believes Washington State senior QB Luke Falk is a sleeper who could sneak into the first round "if he has a great pre-draft process."

"He's the best of these quarterbacks at working the pocket, but he's also probably the least athletic," Kiper wrote. Kiper's colleague Todd McShay lists Falk as the No. 6-ranked quarterback right now.

Nick Chubb - RB - Bulldogs

NFL media draft analyst Lance Zierlein believes Georgia senior RB Nick Chubb has seen his draft stock rise from his strong start to his 2017 season.

Chubb (5'10/235) looked hesitant at times in 2016 as he returned from his knee injury, but Zierlein says that three different NFL evaluators have told him he looks like a different player so far in 2017. He notes that Chubb looks "much more explosive as an interior and outside rusher. He also looks much lighter on his feet while eluding tackle attempts." The previous knee injury will cause concern for some, but Chubb has run like a top 100 selection so far.

If Michigan lose three straight, Harbs might get run out of MI. Lost last week, in a defensive battle currently, facing Penn State next week... doesn't look good. He's still doing that thing where he's stubbornly predictable on offense and can't play to his QBs strengths...

New Mexico State University has talent
Okay, I've been all over Tyler Rogers and Jaleel Scott for good reason, but Jason Huntley is Tyreek Hill kind of fast. Just finding out about him because they're RB Larry Rose III is out.

Don't know what PFF says about today, but he looked pretty dang good from what I saw.

I don't doubt he might have after the rushing day they had yesterday, though I don't know to be sure myself what that game looked like because I didn't focus on it too closely.

Maybe surprisingly to some, after this last week he went from 26th out of 34 last week to 29th out of 35. But again, that's just one system and I again have to repeat that I don't love how they (PFF) stack players because the differences between 10 spots sometimes isn't that much with the way they do their numbers.

With that said, if someone wants to say they saw him with their own two eyes and he did well, that's dandy with me and I'll accept it when I didn't see said player. I will continue to add, however, that collectively based on what I saw and everything I have tried to find up to yesterday wasn't overly warm and fuzzy about him, however. At the same time, I'm often warm and fuzzy about players who many sources don't speak well on sometimes either so that's fine, too.

My whole thing on him this whole time was to throw a bunch of stuff out there beyond what my own eyes have seen because in the end I'm just a football nut and my opinion is just one of many to throw on the garbage heap. Sometimes it matches up with the majority, sometimes it doesn't. On the whole Elflein thing, hopefully nobody gets it mixed up where I've been coming from at each step.

This is the RB we need to draft in next year’s draft. Somewhere in the late first early second. He’d be such a weapon in Kyle’s scheme:

Bryce Love - RB - Cardinal

Stanford redshirt junior RB Bryce Love leads the FBS in rushing yards (1,387), rushing yards per game (198.1), rushes of 10-plus yards (33), rushing yards after contact (496) and rushing yards before contact (744).

He's averaging 10.3 yards per carry while ranking seventh in the country in rushing attempts. He's added 11 rushing touchdowns and four catches for 19 yards (4.8 yards per catch). "What has impressed me the most about Love is his speed, which jumps off the screen," ESPN's Todd McShay wrote. "At 5-foot-10, 196 pounds, he's a smaller back, but his game translates well to the NFL. The numbers he has been putting up are just ridiculous."

I was able to watch this game on Saturday. This kid stood out:

D.J. Chark - WR - Tigers

ESPN's Mel Kiper grades LSU senior WR D.J. Chark as a Day 2 prospect, but he believes Chark "could move up if he tests well."

In LSU's win over Auburn on Saturday, Chark had five catches for 150 yards and a 75-yard punt return for a touchdown. The 6-foot-3, 195-pounder has averaged 21.1 yards per catch on 48 career catches. "He's a big-play threat, and I like the way he creates separation late in his routes," Kiper wrote. "I'd like to see him consistently high-point the ball, so he's not a perfect prospect. He also lost a fumble against Auburn. Chark could end up being the top senior receiver in this 2018 class."

You throw so many hailmarys, sooner or late you bound to complete one of them. Lol. The last and only time you had a WR projection correct was Allen Robinson.

D.J. Chark - WR - Tigers

LSU senior WR D.J. Chark has shown "elite skills" this year for the Tigers, according to NFL Draft Scout's Rob Rang.

Chark (6'3/195) was dominant in the upset victory over Auburn, and Rang -- along with a few other analysts -- have sang the senior's praises. "Broad-shouldered, with a tapered, athletic frame and outstanding overall athleticism, Chark looks the part of a star NFL receiver. Terrific body control -- including agility, balance and burst -- allows Chark to elude defenders as a returner and after the catch and suggest that he could develop into a terrific route-runner," Rang said. Chark's speed, size and ability to return kicks could make him one of the first wideouts to be drafted this spring.

Bradley Chubb - DL - Wolfpack

NC State senior edge rusher Bradley Chubb is now up to 14 tackles for loss on the season, including six sacks.

Chubb dealt with a gruesome finger injury near halftime, as his hand was able to momentarily point in two different directions. Chubb is the rare senior who might be the nation's top defensive player and pass rusher. Disruption is vital for NFL teams. We are excited to watch him the rest of the season and during the draft process.

Damien Harris - RB - Crimson Tide

According to NFL Media's Chad Reuter, Alabama junior RB Damien Harris is an "all-around talent" who can "[break] big runs, [catch] the ball out of the backfield, [return] kicks [and] pass protect."

The analyst ranked Harris as the nation's most underappreciated draft prospect, an idea we've read elsewhere and can get on board with. Overshadowed by fellow RB Bo Scarbrough and his myriad star teammates, the 5-foot-11, 211-pound Harris has run for 625 yards and nine touchdowns on an incredible 9.2 YPC this year. As an added bonus for NFL teams, he doesn't have much wear on his tires after being used as a platoon back at 'Bama.
