I hate picking a player sorely on fit. That is why they drafted a kicker in the 3rd round, or why they keep picking RBs and TEs that never stick around, despite better players available.

they picked a kicker in the 3rd because they think they're the smartest dudes in the NFL, galaxy brained it and failed just like they did with Lance. think this is a make or break draft for this regime. if they don't get this draft right they're cooked.

I agree that people get too caught up in the consensus draft board. That's pretty meaningless at the end of the day. Ultimately, a guy is worth whatever pick a team is willing to spend on him. MAYBE you say the second-highest pick, as one team could reach pretty significantly.

I try not to complain about reaches unless they're really glaring. Latu was a huge reach because he was pretty clearly a physically limited player. TDP was a huge reach. Those guys were sixth or seventh round talents that we took much higher. Pearsall felt like something of a reach, but a lot is in the eye of the beholder at a particular position. Do you value a vertical threat? A big-bodied guy? A shifty guy? A do-everything player? Depending on that, you'll have different grades on these guys. Similarly, if you need a three-tech vs. a NT, you'll grade those players differently.

Last year, I thought Green was our biggest reach, and he's shaping up to be a darn good player, so...

Should we start a new thread for the actual picks?

I’d imagine it’ll be more full time corner, part time wr, but if I could have one player in this draft he’d be it. There was a brief period of silliness a couple weeks back where he started dropping in a lot of mocks and I was having visions of trading up to ~ 8 and snagging him, but even then I knew it was just the overthinking stage that happens before every draft.

Browns trading back, getting an extra second this year and a first next year AND getting Mason Graham? big boy moves.

Draft has been as expected other than the trade (Hunter goes 2 either way), but didn't think Graham goes 5
