While it was just barely inside the left upright, it looked like he had an extra 5+ yards in terms of distance over the crossbar. If his rep is that he is accurate but doesn't have a strong leg, being a threat up to 60 yards sounds plenty strong enough to me. Kickers will always look beautiful when they make it and ugly when they miss, but he may be a secret weapon for this team. Great way to make lemonade from those Moody lemons!

Kickoffs are inconsistent. Short most of the time it seems. Not much height either but maybe that’s deliberate with the weird kickoff rules now.

I'm not sure height matters much anymore since no one can move until the ball is fielded. The way the Rams use that knuckleball kick to make it bounce and become hard to handle may be the best way to proceed. Not sure why our brilliant special teams coach hasn't taught Pineiro how to use this yet; maybe he thinks our special teams coverage unit is so elite that it isn't needed.

You mean like when he failed to bounce it past the 20 yard line and the 49ers ended up with the ball at the 40?

Dee Winters was actually the worst on the night with a 29.2 pop.

I was surprised that Trent was our highest graded O-lineman at 65.7 (5th highest offensive player); my eye test said that our running game was particularly bad running left (behind Trent) and he seemed to be beaten more in pass protection than I am used to seeing. In terms of allowing pass pressures, Colby and McKivitz were the worst at 4 each, Trent and Puni had 3 each and Brendal had 2. The much maligned Brendal had our best run blocking grade at 73.6. Our highest graded pass blocker was actually CMC at 81.7; CMC also had our highest pass receiving grade at 90.9 (Bourne was our highest WR with an 80.3 pass catching grade).

Unless our pass blocking significantly improves, Shanahan may have to borrow Tony Stark's Ironman suit for whoever our starting QB will be for the next game.
Surprised the oline grades aren't higher. They did a great job in passport, generally gave Mac a good look and good time.

Only one sack but several hits and a couple of rushed passes which could have been disastrous. So much for McKivitz's pass protection ratings coming into this game.

And NOTHING in the running game, too many times first contact on CMC was at the LOS or in the backfield.

At least last year, they were getting good production with Mason mostly.

Kyle drew up a lot of quick throws. Jones was getting beat up in the 2nd half nearly every time he dropped back longer than 2 seconds
