Although they were neutral today, I haven't forgot about the abysmal special teams.

I'm still holding out hope Schneider gets pink slipped over the bye. I'm going to be disappointed though.

Hopefully Sorenson can use the week off to re-evaluate his schemes. Kyle should use the week off scheming up more creativity in the red zone, and figure out how to be able to move the ball without Deebo on the field.

Saw some of the things that have been concerns the whole season but saw some actual signs of putting things together.

Defense feels like the ship is starting to get right but they still have some of the dumbest drives that make you go crazy. They are still struggling to put away games but at the very least outside their terrible drives they have been playing at a fairly good level.

Purdy is a tale of two halves. 1st half just like the Chiefs game he was just off target and even his completions were just uncharacteristically not as accurate. Don't know what happened at half time but he flipped a switch and that 3rd quarter he and the offense as a whole looked like the 9er offense from last season. 3 trips into the red zone and 3 TDs. Now they didn't do much in the 4th but I'll chalk that up to Kyle being up 17 and dialing back the offense to burn the clock.

Offense needs to clean up the penalties though and yeah I'll say a couple were due to new bodies being in there that haven't played much or in Pearsalls case barely at all but they are still killing promising drives.

Overall a win going into bye week is always great and the 2nd half of this game gave me some flickers of hope that the team can get on a decent track at least. Can't say this team looks like a title contender but Shanahan's teams are kinda late bloomers so they just need to get into the playoffs and go from there.

Much needed win obviously. It didnt need to be so interesting and dramatic in the 4th quarter but this version of the 49ers is that kind of team unfortunately. And Kyle will do his bs, like calling a passing play on 2nd and 3 with 3:25 left in the game up 30-24. That was the play Purdy got drilled from behind and luckily held on to the ball. Or running up the gut on 3rd and 10 early in the game. As ugly as it was, I will take it. They are more likely now to be byers I guess come trade deadline. Maybe beef up DT spot? The 2024 draft is looking great and we sure need that as we are about to pay Brock in the offseason, so drafting well is critical for ongoing long term success.

For once I agree with you. What a dunce. I am sure his agent loved it.

The worst part was him not having the balls to explain it at the post game presser. With Kaep he took a deeply nuanced approach, and eloquently explained why he was kneeling. Then he was subsequently black balled by the league.

Yes I am aware of that. Bosa wearing that is his right. Just like Kaepernick kneeling. Anyways, do you see the 49ers trading for anyone by next Tues?

Of course it's their right. Bosa just a complete clown wearing it and ducking out on giving any context or explanation for jumping into the interview. Guess that's par for the course with MAGA.

Yeah, if you want to use your platform to back a cause/candidate, I'm fine with guys doing that. I'm not one to say, "Shut up an stick to [whatever]." But don't wear the hat, interrupt your teammates' completely unrelated interview session, and then when asked about it be like, "I don't really want to talk about it." That's pretty gutless IMO.

And totally agree on Kap. He started by sitting during the anthem, but after talking to a former Navy Seal about perceived disrespect he started kneeling. Then he gets raked over the coals for showing disrespect by people who had no idea why he started kneeling in the first place.

Eric Reid got blackballed, too. Worse than Kap, frankly, because I maintain that Kap is a tough guy to be a backup QB. He probably wasn't good enough to be a longterm starter - largely because he didn't really improve in terms of his vision and touch/accuracy - but he's a problematic backup because he's physically talented enough that fans are going to call for him any time the starter struggles. No team wants that sort of distraction at that position. Reid was just a solid safety, great leader, and really smart guy who got kicked to the curb after his contract with Carolina ended. Dude started every game of his career but one, was arguably coming off his best season (certainly his best statistically), and then disappeared.

What was there for Bosa to talk about? I think the visual was all that was needed. He was promoting it. No words needed.

I viewed it as a cop-out, especially in that he appeared somewhat annoyed he was asked about it when obviously he was going to be. And wearing the hat could be interpreted in a number of different ways, so I don't know that it's as simple as that.

We certainly don't have to get into a political debate. But I think the way he handled it was pretty silly and immature. Certainly that's true of plenty of celebrity endorsements, though.

One item I found surprising about this game - who was our highest PFF graded offensive lineman? It was....Jake Brendel with a 70.0 overall grade (albeit with a team low 49.1 pass blocking grade, yes even lower than McKivitz!). Trent was 65.6 overall with a (by far) team high pass blocking grade of 87.4. Our lowest overall graded OL was Banks at 56.9.
