What a waste.
Agree on Hufanga and Greenlaw. Actually, the young players at safeties look at least as good as Hufanga these days. He had that one stretch where he looked like the next Polamau and nothing really standing out since.
Deebo has had a couple of big plays this season and last season turned a couple of short catches into huge plays, a decent season but still making too much for his production.
Unfortunately, Pearsall hasn't shown that he could come close to replacing Deebo's production from even last year. But Deebo may still be cap casualty.
I didn't see it myself, but was listening to a podcast that pointed out that when Huf went out briefly and Brown came in, the Bears went on their one long drive. Brown has seriously regressed this year. Mustafa looks like a keeper, but we need a second S. If Hufanga will take a reasonable one-year deal, I'm up for that.
Deebo just looks totally cooked. I don't think it matters if we can replace him or not. He doesn't deserve the reps based on how he has played. We should at least be trying Pearsall and Cowing.
