He cooled down quite a bit compared to pre-election/post election. Still posting memes of the VP

You didn't scroll too far. Feb 28th was the last time he made a direct political post. Also click on replies and scroll past March 1st, he loves to reply to people as well.

I doubt his politics had anything to do with him fitting in with the players.

I hate this. Wish we could have traded BA for a 2nd and grabbed Kupp.

i think Kupp still has some juice in him, and would've been a really nice fit here as a blocking WR too.

that's a pretty hefty deal though, depending on guarantees

Juice needs to retire as a 49er. Dude is a real team player and has lost millions to stay with the team over the years

Not meaning to disagree with the central premise, but we initially signed Juice for double what the next fullback was making in what wasn't exactly a competitive market. I think he's made more money because of the Niners than lost it.

So they renegotiated a new deal with Juice, 2 years, $8 million.

Maybe only about half of that is guaranteed.

What was left on his previous contract, would he have averaged over $4 million the next two seasons?

At his age, that second year is not looking likely.

I heard it was fully guaranteed?

Very confused. They cut him, took on a dead cap hit, then re-signed him for nearly as much as he was signed for? Very curious to get a battery understanding of the finances of this.

I don't like this at all. Mason proved he was a RB1 (even though he fumbled and cost the game vs ARI), and CMC can't stay healthy. I'm guessing they spend another 3rd on a.....RB

How much do you think he was worth? They didn't want to pay 5M+ to a back up RB when we can find them pretty easily

This offseason continues to give me a consistent feeling of being underwhelming.

I'm fine with this, we got a pick swap this year to move a 6th into the 5th and a 6th next year for a guy we picked up as an UDFA last year.

this is a deep, deep RB class and the team probably recognizes someone they like just as good if not better than Mason in the 5th range.

Wow, that sucks. He was leading the league in yards and ypa or just about until he got injured. We will miss him.

So basically they decided to pay and keep the 34-year old FB instead of the young RB.

Kyle really wants the FB in his formations.
