49ers waived Savage and signed Jeff Wilson to the active roster. I'd rather see them in another system but within reason I'd like to see as much of Wilson and Richie James as possible for the rest of the year.

You've gotta be s**tting me. :noway: Nice knowin' ya, Ruben.

For the 100th time, I wanted Cam Robinson, and Lynch is an amateur. :nonono:

I can look past the Reuben pick, you draft on talent and potential. Dude had loads of both but unfortunately has the IQ of a goldfish

This was known beforehand. It's not like with Aldon Smith. Lynch ignored Jimmy Johnson, who said, "You can't fix stupid."

An ILB isn't important enough to risk a first rounder when the guy is a walking red flag. Maybe if he were a pass rusher.

So does the Nick Mullens experiment end? Or does he get another week?

Btw, WTF happened on the Breida "TD"? I swear to God I saw him go in, and then suddenly we were facing third and one. I was watching on my phone and keeping an eye on the kids, so I admittedly didn't have a great view. Was he just down?

Ryan was talking about it on KNBR this morning. I didn't see the play. Ryan thought he had crossed the goal line and a TD and thought it was worth a review

They F-ed up and didn't review that 3rd down and went for it on 4th. He was over on the 3rd down for sure and they blew it. The silver lining here is that at least we're getting a peek and some young bloods. I like what I'm seeing so far which get's me excited for a bit of a swing in the right direction next year.

Do we look to get a new QB or give Jimmy G another run?

I re-watched that Breida run, and I just don't see how he wasn't in. They cut the replay abruptly, but it sure looked like he got in. The same goes for Mullens on the sneak on the following play, though you couldn't really see the ball. That's one where he probably should have extended the ball.

i didn't catch this, but it's kinda neat, we got niner fans landing rovers on mars. I don't think they did it right, but they're nerds, so you can't expect them to know how to dance.

I didn't like the Pettis pick for a number of reasons, but the guy can get open. Let's just hope he can stay healthy enough to get on the field consistently. We desperately need him to turn into a solid starting WR, if not more.

Physically, Pettis' best analogue among "elite" WRs is Adam Thielen. Thielen has about a half-inch on Pettis, and weighs a few pounds more (did at his pro day, anyway), they ran almost identical 40s (4.49ish), had the same 36" vertical, Pettis' broad jump was five inches longer, and his three cone appears to have been about 0.1 second slower. I don't know that Pettis was 100% at his pro day, so the three-cone in particular might not be indicative of what we've seen on the field is elite change of direction skill, particularly when running at or near full speed. I am definitely not saying he will be Thielen, but Thielen is showing that a receiver in that mold can be an impact player in today's NFL.

Of course, Thielen was undrafted (probably because of his slight build) and made little impact until this third year. He certainly looks quite a bit bigger than Pettis, and presumably has added bulk since the draft. Hopefully Pettis puts in the work to get bigger, stronger, and more durable.
