Wentz trade is now official, nothing yet on Goff/Stafford but I'm sure that happens any moment.

Cards aren't sitting back. That's a pretty good get for them, granted a third is relatively steep for an older, disgruntled player.

Gerald Everett just posted "12!" on his twitter, so I'm assuming he struck a deal with Seattle.
And Rappoport confirms. 1 year, 6M.

Re: Around the NFL Thread
JuJu headed back to Pittsburgh on a one-year deal. Took significantly less not to go to Baltimore, apparently. Odd choice. I get why he might be leery of Baltimore, but last year showed that he's pretty limited in Pittsburgh's current offense. As someone who had him in fantasy, I can attest that outside of receptions - and some early- and late-season TDs - he had an awful year. Between weeks 10 and 15, he had five yards or fewer per reception in four of five games. And that was on 37 targets, so it's not like he just wasn't getting the ball. I can't ever remember a top-shelf receiver having a span like that. His season average per reception was third-worst in the league, ahead of only Larry Fitzgerald and Greg Ward. He didn't crack 100 yards in a single game. I'd expect his averages to improve this next season, basically because they have to, but not by all that much. And his TD rate could easily fall.
Seems like, if he was going to sign a one-year deal, he should do it somewhere with more opportunity for him to be an impact player.

Re: Around the NFL Thread
NFL announced a huge TV deal, starting in 2023, 11 years for $110 billion, including $1 billion a year from Amazon for the Thursday Night package.
I think they were looking to double the deal they signed about 10 years ago.
So salary cap will start to go up a lot no later than 2023. Time to sign those backloaded deals, though of course, players and agents are looking for as much guaranteed and upfront money as possible.

Said this in the other thread, but I'm fine with this. I would have liked Hyder back on a one-year deal. He's a solid base end who would have given us more time to ease Bosa back in. But he's not an impact player or even close to it, and there shouldn't be much expectation that his sack numbers will be as high in Seattle. It's a fine signing for them, but I think they could have used that money more effectively elsewhere.

Re: Around the NFL Thread
Though I'm reading this is more of a two-year, $6.5 million deal. For that, I'd probably rather have Hyder than Ebukam.

Saleh finally brings in a former Niner, and it's Tevin Coleman. Whaaaa??? I get not bringing in one of the graybeards some folks expected him to go after, but why bring in Coleman?

Cards still at it. Signed Malcolm Butler to a one-year deal. He's not elite, but he's a good player, and they had basically nothing at outside CB previously. This division is going to be a slog.

Re: Around the NFL Thread
Looks like the Hawks are also cutting Jarran Reed. Tough break for him to get released this late in the FA period. Not a lot of money out there now. Interesting choice between Dunlap and Reed. Edge is more valuable, but Dunlap is three years older. Not sure this is the right long-term choice for them.

Reed is a good interior lineman. But wasn't worth his cap number. Dunlap still has juice & was a great pickup last year.
They essentially went with a duo of Dunlap & Hyder over Reed. It's a no-brainer.

Fair point on the cap number. $14 million for a guy who isn't an impact pass rusher - at least consistently - is a lot.

Hyder is an underrated player Crims. The man was arguably our 2nd best player on defense this past season.
