Washington redshirt junior DL Vita Vea is college football's most talented run stopper, according to Daniel Jeremiah.

PFF sides with Maurice Hurst, Ed Oliver and Harrison Phillips among interior blockers, but Vea certainly ranks up there. He's a massive human who moves well for his size. The question is if Vea can be more than a run defender, as rushing the passer is more important at the NFL level.

Where have I seen this story before? :-?

Danny Shelton, Alameda Ta'amu, Isaac Sopoaga... They're all the same guy.

Here's my top 5 at the moment:

1. Rosen
2. Mayfield
3. Nelson
4. Shaquon Barkley
5. Christian Wilkinson

...then a steep drop off. Maybe Chubb at 6(I'll compare him to Anzah).

Hoping Barkley (the QB) and / or Jackson push one of those 5 guys to the Niners.

Allbright is hearing Jackson is outside the top 20.

Are you talking AT ALL or just likely top guys? I haven't seen a great deal of your personal level of interest in the draft this year so I don't know how far down you go this time.

Completely random question out of left field. Have you seen much of Wake Forest DE Duke Ejiofor? He was one of the guys I spent a ton of time on this weekend. Becoming one of my favorite rushers this year the more I see. He's a triple plus in the make up department, too. Was kind of hoping he'd fly under the radar for selfish reasons but he'll be a Senior Bowl kid so.......

Hey Pozz, I realized that I completely mixed up the player you were asking about when I originally answered this question. I saw Duke Ejiofor, and my brain thought "tweener," but I was thinking of the wrong tweener. My first response was about Marquis Haynes from Ole Miss.

Duke Ejiofor: too similar to Solomon Thomas for the Niners to draft IMO. Niners need either a speed rusher, an every-down DT like Christian Wilkinson or a big ole NT to play 30% of the snaps IMO. I don't see what Ejiofor would bring that players already on the roster don't already (like Armstead).

I don't think we can address and fix all of our holes in one draft. Besides Chubb and Key there aren't that many "great" edge rushers in this year's class that I'd be very happy to draft. Key's stock has taken a hit, so perhaps we can move back 4/6 spots and draft him then? I like Josh Allen but only in the second round, and even then I think he'd be better off making a position switch. He's not better than Armstead.

Tony Pauline is hearing Key is Mr. Red flags. Mentioned Gregory flags bad.

Is that really his first name? Pozz would know...

Lil'Jordan Humphrey - WR - Longhorns

Texas sophomore WR Lil'Jordan Humphrey is one of three players who has been suspended for the team's Texas Bowl showdown with Missouri on Dec. 27.

Humphrey, Toneil Carter and Garrett Gray will all sit out the bowl suspended due to an unspecified violation of team rules. This season, the 6-foot-4, 222-pounder has caught 38 passes for 439 yards and a touchdown. The slot wideout is second on the team in receiving yardage. Reggie Hemphill-Mapps and Lorenzo Joe will likely see expanded snaps against the Tigers with Humphrey in the doghouse.

Frank Ginda - LB - Spartans

San Jose State junior LB Frank Ginda will forego his final year of eligibility to enter the 2018 NFL Draft.

NFL Draft Bible had reported as much near the end of November. Ginda made it official on Friday. The 6-foot, 245-pounder was a first-team All-Mountain West performer this season and earned that designation courtesy of a mind-bending statistical campaign in which he recorded 173 tackles -- tops in the FBS and the second-most for a season since 2006. According to the little birdies of Draft Analyst's Tony Pauline, Ginda is "a workout warrior, and [Pauline's sources] expect him to be one of the top performers and testers at his position during NFL Scouting Combine held in Indianapolis in late February." Pauline's outlet currently stamps the linebacker with a grade for Rds. 6-7, though top-flight athletic talents such as Ginda can sometimes find themselves skyrocketing up boards during the evaluating process.

Jaire Alexander - DB - Cardinals

Louisville junior CB Jaire Alexander will forego his final season of eligibility to enter the 2018 NFL Draft.

Alexander (5'11/192) will not take part in the TaxSlayer Bowl against Mississippi State on Dec. 30. ESPN's Mel Kiper Jr. ranks him as the No. 7 cornerback prospect in the 2018 draft class. It's been something of a lost season for the junior, who has managed to appear in just six games due to a knee injury. When right, he offers a strong nose for the ball (seven career interceptions) and the athletic upside to help offset his undersized frame. If he's unable to squeak into the first round, he'll likely be off the board relatively early on Day 2 (Rds. 2-3) of the spring draft.

Josh Allen - QB - Cowboys

Denver Broncos GM John Elway and top deputy Matt Russell are in Boise for Friday's Famous Idaho Potato Bowl tilt between Wyoming and Central Michigan.

This is all about Wyoming QB Josh Allen, the top draft-eligible prospect playing in the Potato Bowl. Denver (5-9) is currently tracking toward a top-10 pick in the spring draft. NFL executives polled by NFL.com's Daniel Jeremiah recently compared the 6-foot-5, 220-pound Allen to Jake Locker (for his boom/bust potential), Ben Roethlisberger and Cam Newton (the latter two for similarities in size, arm strength and mobility).

Sutton is great.

I really like Barkley and Minkah Fitzpatrick. I don't think we need to go crazy on the defensive line in the 1st round. we are going to pick high. I really like a guy like Josh Sweat out of florida State who was the top recruit in the country. he's got a little Jadeavon Clowney to me. we can get him probably mid round top of second.

Look at the tape Flordia State vs. Michigan last season he took over that game. he was a beast basically got Florida state the win on defense that pocket was all flucked up with Sweat getting to the Quarterback and he threw a lot of interceptions.

Mid round 2nd round picks Cameron Smith out of USC very intriguing putting a guy like that with Reuben Foster kind of all over the field lke a Luke Keackly

We got Guards in Tomlinson and Garnett those guys gotta get their shlit together. I think we are good.

With Goropollo we can just pick players now to add to this championship team. I'd just be looking for receivers who can get downfield they don't have to all be superstars just guys who can make the big catches and get the touchdowns. I would be really trying to get Jarvais Landry. then go get Beckham.

Dude you said David Boston Lol

do you remember that Arizona Cardinal Game against the Oakland Raiders when Boston went Ape Shlit on Charles Woodson I mean he was beast in that game like two touchdowns the game winner it would be interesting to see his stats from that game. but they kept throwing to him and I think he got the game winning touchdown. he got paid by San Diego then couldn't make a catch and tore his ACL I remember reading an ESPN the magazine article about him where he just talked about wanting to be explosive he was running a 4.3 at 250 it was freakish is he still in football coaching are something???? that was a completely different David Boston then the one at Ohio State.

They said the same thing about Deshaun Watson this time last year—before he explored in the playoffs, in particular that National Championship bowl game. Some analysts were even projecting him in the second round. History showed us that he almost went in the top 10. Well, I can almost guarantee anyone that LJ will go in the top ten in the 2018 draft.

I’m a huge FSU fan, my comrades in this 49er forum can vouch that I’m indeed a diehard FSU fan. As a huge fan of that program, my advice would be to stay away of selecting him that high. Two players on that team we need to stay away from is Tarvarus McFadden and Josh Sweat. Both of them are vastly overrated!! The only players on the Seminoles team that I would accept for our beloved 9ers are Derwin James, Auden Tate, and Derrick Nnadi.

This kid is well known throughout the country and within draft circles. But for some reason or another we don’t talk about him much in this forum, but I’m also aware that most of us here seem to like what he has to offer as a RB. He seems like a great fit for Shanny’s scheme. I’m interested to see his measurables at the combine — I wouldn’t mind investing a mid round pick on him:
