everything we're doing is pointing to the idea that we don't want to give Purdy big money, and if we're going to be a defense and run-focused team, who won't invest too much in protecting the QB with high level talent on the OL, and especially now that we've brought on Mac Jones and just drafted another QB, i'd be shocked if we give Purdy anythiung about 50 a pop.

Nice, finally...Connor Colby is a good fit in this system

Colby is a described as a good fit for zone running schemes and has experience starting at RG, LG, and RT. So he should be a good fit for us and has the versatility that a back-up O-lineman needs to have.

Disappointed that we didn't take Logan Brown with our final pick.

Andddd we end it by drafting a guy that doesn't even have a profile on nfl.com...because apparently we couldn't just bring him in as an UDFA

I doubt we are looking at him as a serious receiver. The Saints brought him in for a 30-visit interview as a return specialist; he has 8 punt return TD's with a terrific 16.6 average and a 24 yard kick return average with a TD.

This draft is not a strong endorsement of Cowing.

Anyone here seen Watkins play? His scouting reports and numbers don’t match up. Ran in the 4.3’s, averaged 18+ ypc but the reports keep saying ‘lacks speed and suddenness’. I know some guys time fast but don’t play it and vice versa, but the ypc and the clips I have seen seem fast enough.

With the amount of picks, I'm shocked they didn't trade with anyone to get future picks or trade up to get a player falling. Tells a lot about this team and the holes they had

I'm guessing the front office was confident they could fill holes with the undrafted FA's in the draft class thread.

I actually like Rourke as a player in our system, I'm not just saying it cause they are both 7th rounders, but he may be Purdy 2.0. his strengths are anticipation and processing, he also set the team record for completion % . he seems to fit what kyle likes

“When in structure, Rourke delivers with anticipation, pace and placement and is at his best on isolation routes, especially back shoulders and sideline bucket throws. Though fearless in the pocket, his struggles start to pop up when forced to move from his spot, which leads to lower-body mechanical issues and inaccuracy — he completed just 57 percent of his passes and averaged 163 passing yards against the three best defenses on the 2024 schedule (Michigan, Notre Dame, Ohio State). Overall, Rourke is a good-sized pocket passer who will push the ball downfield when everything stays on schedule, but his average mobility will be tough to mask against NFL defenses. He is a potential Aidan O’Connell-level backup, if he stays healthy. GRADE6th Round”

I wouldn't count on another 7th rounder to turn into anything more than a backup at best.

It's asking too much for lightning to strike twice.
