Niners finally selected a CB - DeMarkus Acy was signed as an undrafted FA. Very good size at 6-2, 195 pounds . Wasn't invited to the Combine but has good speed with a listed 4.5 40 and a best of 4.42. Versatile player who started as a free safety and converted to a CB, so he has good ball skills.

Add Arkansas TE Chase Harrell and Missouri LB Ronnell Perkins to the list.

1 more spot open.

He only ran a 4.62 at the Combine so something must have happened to him, either injury, weight gain or something else.

His time in high school likely wasn’t legit

Phew! So you're telling me my 6.1 wasn't legit, either? Thank God. When the backup center who was running beside me looked back and laughed while crossing the finish line, I thought I was running pretty slowly....

Moseley was a Tennessee guy.

So Trey Adams didn't get drafted, huh? Not a huge surprise. Wouldn't hurt to take a Baalke chance on the guy...

Acy and Mayden are intriguing

I wouldn’t underestimate Josh Hokit from Fresno signed as a UDFA. Kid played running-back at Fresno with good hands. He was also a two time NCAA All-American wrestler. He was signed as a FB for SF. Last Fresno running-back who was also an All-American wrestler? Lorenzo Neal.

San Fran has been talking to him for months and almost lost him to Buffalo in Round 7. They had to hold off 8 other teams but with Juzczyk a free agent after next year the Niners had a clear role for him.

This is a good pick up for them:

AARON FULLER
WR, COLLEGE PLAYER

Seahawks signed Washington WR Aaron Fuller.

A part-time player in four seasons for UW, Fuller (5'11/188) was devoid of yards after the catch (16 broken tackles on 161 catches), reliable mitts (17 drops in his career) and physicality downfield (13-of-41 in contested situations). He also lacks the raw speed (4.59 40) and burst (7.14-second three-cone) to separate himself from this class. Fuller led Washington with at least 58 catches and 700 receiving yards in each of the past two seasons but doesn't have the profile be worth a flier in Dynasty leagues.

I know you guys aren't going to like to hear this but DaMarkus Acy reminds me of Akhello Witherspoon. In my opinion, this is a good thing because it means he understands how to cover, but both need to work on ball skills.

I think Salvon Ahmed is making this team. He looks like he could thrive in our system.

He’s got a very good chance. All he has to do is beat out McKinnon.

I get the sense that Shanahan values breakaway speed in his RB's. Ahmed ran a 4.62 at the Combine. On the other hand, Coleman (4.39), McKinnon (4.35) and Mostert (4.32) have all recorded far faster times. Even Jeff Wilson, who is considered slow for a RB, ran a 4.57. I think Ahmed would have to demonstrate a clear skill that Shanny highly values that the other RB's don't possess to make the roster, although a practice squad spot is a possibility.

Here is a clip of the other undrafted RB (besides Ahmed) that we signed, JaMycal Hasty. Officially timed at 4.55 and film shows him consistently able to run away from second and third level defenders to hit the explosive home run. Also looks like he could be a solid special teams guy and a good receiver out of the backfield.

weird ESPN lists his 40 as 4.32

Bleacher report had him in their 10 fastest college players list.

As posted earlier, the 4.62 is what he actually ran at the Combine. Whether the Combine is closer to what he actually is or not is something the coaches will need to determine in training camp (if there is one). Certainly it isn't unheard of for an athlete to have a bad day at the Combine, but losing .3 seconds is a huge difference in a course as short as the 40. If both accounts are accurate, he must have had a significant weight gain recently or was nursing an injury at the Combine. Game speed matters much more than timed speed so hopefully there will be some sort of training camp for him to show the coaches what he has on the field.

If Salvon Ahmed had run a 4.32 at the Combine, he would have been by far the fastest RB in the draft and the 3rd fastest player period (surpassed by only Henry Ruggs and Javelin Guidry). As it is, his actual 4.62 makes him one of the slowest RB's at the Combine. My guess is that if teams actually believed he is a 4.32 guy, some team would have taken a Day 3 flyer on him and drafted the fastest RB in the nation. Since we signed him as an undrafted FA, it seems that every team believed the 4.62 is more accurate of his current condition.
