Re: 2017-18 CFB SEASON / '18 NFL DRAFT
I was generally happy with last year's draft, but the one thing that I really didn't like at the time was trading our third-round pick to the Saints for their second this year. Last year's draft was incredibly deep, and I was worried the Saints would make the playoffs this year and we'd be trading a very high third rounder in a strong draft for a very low second rounder a year later in a weak draft. That seems to be playing out. The Saints may be the favorite to win the NFC, though Minny may give them some trouble. Granted I probably would have taken Jordan Willis with that pick, and he hasn't exactly made a splash to date, but I feel like he was much a higher-rated prospect than the guy we'll be eyeing this year.

Re: 2017-18 CFB SEASON / '18 NFL DRAFT
Damn I thought he was flying under the radar. I didn't know that some media outlets were projecting him as a first round pick. Darn it:
Auden Tate - WR - Seminoles
Following Florida State's 42-13 win over Southern Miss in the Independence Bowl, junior WR Auden Tate declined to comment on a potential NFL Draft declaration.
"Coach [Odell Haggins] always tells me to be where my feet are, so they are right here," Tate said. "So I am going to enjoy this win with my team and then go from there." If Wednesday's bowl showing was his last collegiate game, the 6-foot-5, 218-pounder went out in fine fashion, catching five passes for 84 yards and a trio of touchdowns. A potential Day 1 selection for the draft, Tate offers an enticing frame for red zone work.

That's what I've been saying. Probably the weakest non-QB draft I've followed in like 15 years.

I like him much better than Tarvarus McFadden.

I'd say we should go with Quentin Nelson, but apparently I have no idea how to project Guards. I thought Jonathan Cooper and Chance Warmack were going to be perennial all-pros.
At least we got Kelechi Osemele right!

With all the guard talent out there in this draft, maybe Nelson will drop? Love the dudes from Arkansas, VT, Georgia & Auburn. Might be forgetting one...

Iupati is no bueno. He had fallen so far from his peak when he left. He’s never been able to return to form either. So overhyped.

He's a good prospect. He's no Lattimore or Peterson; not by a long shot.

Re: 2017-18 CFB SEASON / '18 NFL DRAFT
Ima go Jay z on yall for a minute.
FACTS
last years draft was amazing Marshawn Lattimore probably the cornerback we should've drafted Jamal Adams that was the guy I wanted we drafted Solomon Thomas that draft was loaded with defensive and NFL stars
This year not so much.
Nelson gets a lot of run because of Zach Martin. is he Zach Martin I think he his dude is a beast. I like a nasty Kevin Gogan type of Guard and I think he's a throwback.
Jack Konklin Taylor Lewlan Tennessee has some nasty lineman. we need someone like that. how about the big brotha Trent Brown from Oklahoma he's a mountain.
We are going to win this game this weekend cause the Rams are playing the Little Giants and we are probably gone win this game by four touchdowns.
so if we are at 11 do we just draft the guy that everyone is talking about Sutton.
Or do you continue to solidify your defense and draft a guy like Cameron Smith from USC and pair him with Rueben Foster and have a nasty linebacking core of Foster and Smith like a new Navaro Bowman and Patrick Willis. watch him against Ohio State.
and what did I tell yall about Jordan Lindsley from UCLA hope you watched him shatter Kansas State in the phoenix Bowl. dude had his 10 catches 150 yards and a touchdown. he's got some character stuff but like Deshawn Jackson I like the L.A. speed guys look at JUJU smith shuester get the good L.A. receiver yall are going to like this guy.
Do we have an honest shot at Minka Fitzpatrick and do yall even want him?
Were are we at with Saquon Barkley?
I think round three or two you can get a guy Like Ronald Jones who I like a lot with what we do. have Hyde be your power guy. let Ronald Jones be your speed guy. he can catch the ball out of the backfield. doesn't get the run that barkley gets but dude can score and make plays. don't turn up on me. but he kind of looks like a Todd Gurley to me kind of a big back with surprising power and speed out of the backfield.
Bryce Love at Stanford I like this guy a lot and I think This is the Guy John Lynch is going to want to draft.
I still like Josh Sweat. I just like what I saw on tape.
Iman Marshall USC as a third round fourth round cornerback. big cornerback. playmaker.

Nelson > Martin. Nelson will be in the HOF one day IMO.

Cameron Smith isn't very good in coverage IMO. Pass. The LBs aren't that good in this draft; I say go FA route when someone gets cut. If the Niners want a LB who is good against the run and sicks in coverage, they can just keep Malcolm Smith when he comes back from injury.
Dloading99 wrote:Do we have an honest shot at Minka Fitzpatrick and do yall even want him?
Yes and no. No more safeties.
Dloading99 wrote:Were are we at with Saquon Barkley?
He'll be gone before the Niners pick.

Weak Bowl Day. Chubb and Ward sat/sitting out. Lame.

I think we've seen plenty from them to get a good idea of how well they'll project to the pros.

No one even tried to cover Kirk today and Iowa’s Jackson played on a frozen field vs a run heavy team. Yawn.
James Washington looked good despite Randolph spraying the ball all over the turf. Good luck to whatever team that drafts him.

Tyler Rogers shakey in bowl game. Still pulled out the first NMSU bowl game win in 57 years for the Aggies. I'm on the Jimmy Grapps bandwagon, but if T. Rogers is there in the 4th round, without hesitation I'm taking him
