Was asked to block more than most college TEs. However, his 7 catches of 20+ yards was the best in his class this year. 3rd best deep receiving yards in his class. Most slot receptions among TEs in his class and 2nd most slot TE yards in his class.

Drops can be a bit of a problem. I don't think he'll ever be a great blocker. Needs a creative offensive mind. Not overly physically gifted.

Nothing terrible but nothing that great about him IMO. Low upside.

You want a tackle? Swing for the fences on Morgan State Joshua Miles. Maurice Bibaku Simba later.

Unless you tell me there's something wrong with the medicals, Rodney Anderson's sweet spot is NOW. Surprised he's here.

Annnnnnnnnnd 49ers take Vanderbilt OT Justin Skule. A left/right tackle swing guy that can't really play left or right tackle very well IMO. Again, no upside there for me.

Skule was PFF's 14th ranked tackle (far higher than me).

The only thing worth an average person's time on the matter:

Vanderbilt football player's FBI dad handles national crises, sometimes on gamedays

1 pick after the 49ers was a WR target of mine - Old Dominion WR Travis Fulgham to the Lions. One of the latest WRs I would have been willing to target (many others ahead of him but a draftable target nonetheless).

Two picks later Lions take one of the fastest pure RBs in this class - Maryland Ty Johnson. Easy transition into special teams IMO.

Colorado WR Juwann Winfree to the Broncos.

Former roommate of Ahkello Witherspoon, who has helped him navigate through the pre-draft process.

WVU LB David Long to the Titans. Goes against what the 49ers typically like in the physical make up profile but they reportedly showed interest in him.

Wow. I’ve never seen you and Pozz ever ever used profanity. 10 plus years. Someone told me Pozz was swearing :argue: once responding to village idiot’s remarks / antics.

I literally shouted no when I saw the pick. Loudly. Just couldn't believe it. Still can't. But I'll wait a bit to give my thoughts on the day.

I have been known to use my share of profanity, but rarely do so in front of the four year old. The one year old doesn't understand me yet...

SUMMARY: A three-star recruit out of high school, Timothy “Tim” Harris played safety, cornerback and receiver at Varina and was considered a top-10 recruit in the state. He bypassed offers from Michigan and others to stay home at Virginia. Harris saw his playing time increase over his first three seasons before season-ending injuries in both 2016 (torn labrum) and 2017 (wrist). He returned for a sixth-year of eligibility in 2018 and had a career-best 36 tackles and two interceptions. Harris played predominantly off-coverage in college, using his springy, yet controlled lower body to stay on top of routes. However, he was often impatient with his footwork, getting his lower body tied up. While inconsistent turning to find the football, he has the length and leaping skills to make plays on the ball if in position. Overall, Harris has a concerning injury past with questionable instincts, but his length and explosive traits are intriguing, projecting best in a press-man scheme.

GRADE: Priority Free Agent
