Last week's decision came down to Condo, Sanborn, and Drew Scott (not the Property Brother).

Brutal. It's funny, going into the season, I thought our worry would be Verrett going down. It's interesting that the concern has now become Verrett being forced into action. Hopefully he can take the next two weeks to prepare and be ready to go. He clearly wasn't this week.

At least they are dodging the bullets on long term injuries so far. Nobody of note is going has gone to the season ending IR so at least guys are due to come back this season.
Verrett is just a question mark at this point.
I'll give him the benefit of the doubt that he was a guy that hasn't seen any meaningful game action in 2 years so he might need some time to get back into the swing of things.
Or maybe the injuries have just caused him to completely lose a step and he's got nothing left.

Yeah, I'm hoping it's the former, of course, and I don't think we can draw any conclusions based on two bad plays this week. It's tough to just hop right into game action, even when you're warmed up and ready. I can't imagine running into the game cold to play CB.

WTF??? Those are some bull-s**t non-statistics. Jimmy played like crap yesterday. He played great against the Bungles, but he was a hot poop sandwich against the Steelers.
CrimsonCrew wrote:I disagree. He made the right reads against the Bengals, but that was easy thanks to Kyle. He was much better throwing the ball this week than he's been so far this season. And better than he was at any point last season, too, IMO.

How is 2 off-target picks, another pass right to the DB (that Deebo luckily took from him in three-flies-up fashion), several over / under-throws & maybe 6 or 7 really good throws "much better?"
I'm not seeing what you're seeing. 2 picks and easily could've been more is not a good game.

It scares the hell out of me, and wouldn't be a trait that I look for in my ideal QB, but he makes it work more often than not. As a result, he will throw some interceptable balls, but his interception rate has typically remained low. His two INTs in this game were not nearly as bad as the reads and throws in the first two games, so I'll take that. If he can play the way he did this week throughout the season, I think we will be in the thick of the playoff hunt. That said, after a relatively easy first 9 weeks or so, our schedule gets pretty brutal. As a team, we'll have to play more like we did in Cincy than the way we did at home this week.
