Re: 2025 OFFSEASON
PFF's top-50 players. Four Niners in the top-24, though none in the bottom 26.
https://www.pff.com/news/nfl-pff50-ranking-50-best-players-2025
One thing that strike me as I look through this list are some of the Niners' tough misses.
10 - TJ Watt. Niners reportedly loved him, but thought #3 was too high and he didn't fall low enough to take him.
13 - Tristan Wirfs. Niners traded out of this spot - while I was personally screaming to take Wirfs - to move down one spot and take Kinlaw.
16 - AJ Brown. I was happy with Deebo, but preferred Brown and endorsed trading down and targeting him in this draft (the Hawks moved back one pick after we took Samuel to 47, Brown went 51). This was subject to debate for much of their careers, but no more. Brown is the much better WR.
28 - Creed Humphrey. So clearly a superior IOL to Aaron Banks.
Obviously there are the general Amon-Ra St. Browns and Nico Collinses that every team passed on multiple times, but the players above were guys the Niners could and should have taken.

Funny thing is they thought #3 was too high for Watt but not too hight for Solomon Thomas.
2017 was just brutal on the misses though. The elephant in the room is obviously Mahomes but I'll be fair he did have a lot of question marks coming out of college and no telling how he pans out if he doesn't end up playing for Reid.
The one I'll point out is missing on CMC and we arguably might have an SB ring or two if we drafted him over Thomas and had him in his prime years.

Re: 2025 OFFSEASON
Regarding Pearsall it might be a nothing burger because he has to be put on the list since he was hurt doing in practice and he can't come in early to rehab he has to be put on the list.
So if he's taken off on Wednesday it likely means he's fine but if he stays on the list questions need to be asked at that point.

Not taking Mahomes hurts badly. What hurts worse is that they didn't even seriously scout him because they were anticipating that Cousins would be available the next year. Oof.

Yeah, could be much ado about nothing and he could be activated tomorrow. We shall see.

Seems like Kyle/Lynch think he will be back very early in camp, not Wednesday early but hopefully by next week sometime

Re: 2025 OFFSEASON
First practice in progress (or maybe already done?)!
Very short clip, and don't want to read into much of anything on day one, but you do see a pronounced difference between Bosa and Williams in this drill. Williams drops his head and just pushes. Bosa keeps his head up and is focused on shedding.

Re: 2025 OFFSEASON
Pearsall not practicing, but seemingly moving without restriction on the side field. Sounds like he should be full go pretty soon.

Re: 2025 OFFSEASON
Cowing may have pulled his hammy. FML. The WR position continues to be a problem despite being easily the position we have thrown the most resources at in the Shanahan-Lynch era.

Apparently Williams moved inside on 3rd and long and destroyed Puni for a sack, so that's excellent news.
