Giving up a 5th rounder for an excellent return man we need is a smart move. Niners still have a ton of picks left in the draft and didn't even give up a high pick.

I'm really happy to see they are making smart moves. This trade makes so much sense for the Niners in every aspect. All that more excited for the draft.

This is a smart move if he progresses and the coaching staff can use him correctly.

I think this means that if he's still available they may pass on CJ Spiller which I was kind of hoping they'd pick up.

49ers now have a good PR/KR for their anemic return game. They were absolutely atrocious at gaining yardage on special teams last season.

Great pick up by Niners. Get a great return man and hopefully Singletary can light a fire under him and get him to focus more and be a nice deep threat. Ginn, Crabs, Davis, Morgan and Hill has some promise.

I love this move. Allows to look at way more options in the draft and not worry about grabbing more offensive options. With some luck he might even turn into the down field threat that desean jackson is. We have plenty of big body bangers.

Great move, but I'm a little disappointed that this probably rules out us picking Spiller. Maybe they heard some rumblings that he could be picked in the top 10?

Brilliant, brilliant, BRILLIANT trade by the Niners. Any Niners fan knows how god awful our return game has been since who knows when, this is a fantastic deal for an established and fantastic return man that can do a little bit as a WR too.

Now we don't need to waste a top 4 round pick on a guy whose value is mostly as a KR. Great move by the Niners, I can't emphasize that enough. Looks like losing McLoughan doesn't exactly mean we're doomed.

No way do they get a return guy as good as Ginn in the 5th round. Also, he can help stretch the field in the slot for Crabtree and VD.

He could definitely be a threat at times in the slot. He's literally all speed with a little shiftiness when he gets into the open field. Back when he was at Ohio State I had no idea why anybody saw a future for him in the NFL as anything more than a KR or WR3.

I remember a classmate of mine in High School called me an idiot for saying Calvin Johnson would be by far the better pro player between himself and Ted Ginn. His reasoning? "Ginn's got shakes man! He got shakes!"

Idiot.

Well the thing is, he doesn't "got shakes" he just runs north south, and sometimes east-west. He doesn't really shake anyone haha.

I like the move because the return game has been apathetic for a while now. He also is a decent deep threat reciever and provides some depth at the position. But that is a ton of salary to absorb for a returner/situational reciever. Also, Santonio Holmes only fetched a 5th and he is a much better player. Character is becoming paramount in the NFL, which is a good thing.

He can line up in the slot or 5 WR slots every once in a while, but I wouldn't expect a ton from him in the passing game. Something he really excelled on in college were those quick screen passes, we could run those types of things for him or randomly toss him in the slot. If he's matched up against an LB the defense is F'd.
