Anthony Davis (RT) from Rutgets, 6'5" and 323 pounds. Huge potential but known to be lazy with bad work ethic. Was it really worth it to jump up 2 spots and give up a 4th rounder?

Mike Iupati (G) from Idaho, 6'5" and 331 pounds. TOTAL BEAST!!!!!! Can play either Guard or Tackle. Should instantly get on the line and move Rachal to the bench

Anthony Davis: B
Iupati: A
Iupati will be dominant, there is no doubt in my mind about that. Who gives a damn that he's a guard and not an LT? Anthony Davis, whatever. High potential but we didn't need to trade up for him. Whatever though. Now a massive weakness of ours is a huge strength.

total waste of pick to grab Davis at 11, but overall I'm not dissappointed. should've kept that 4th and moved up to grab Kyle Wilson or Taylor Mays from a team like dallas or Minnesota. If Alex Smith can't do it this year he's GONEEE though.

Unless you want Adam Synder who gave up 11 sacks last season starting at Right Tackle again. Drafting Davis wasn't a waste of a pick.

I don't mind the 49ers drafting Anthony Davis but why trade up 2 spots and give up a 4th rounder to get him when we could've just got him or Bulaga at 13. Didn't make any logical sense whatsoever.

Sorry Soca, I meant the 4th was a waste.
Battle plan for tomorrow: Taylor Mays

Green Bay was trying to move up to 12 to grab Davis. That's why they did the small trade up.

After listening to Mike and Baalke talk it made sense to trade up. Teams were vvery aggressive during the first round and those were the two we wanted so make it happen. Now let's keep it going.

I'm not excited with either pick, added together I'm not happy with the 1st round. Obviously the O-line was a major area of concern, and needed to be upgraded. But to donate an extra pick only to move up a grand total of 2 spots to grab a guy who is well known to be overly lazy and have a less than desirable work ethic is not appealing to me. As for Iupati, he is known to perform well in the run game but is questionable with pass protection. Shouldn't a 1st round caliber guard be better than rock solid in both the run and passing game? Seriously how many guards are worthy of 1st round picks, let alone a guard whose pass protection is in question? Quality guards are readily available in the mid rounds every year. Taking a guard who has questions in the 1st round is not at all good value with the pick.
That said, o-lineman are usually one of the more NFL ready positions and these are 2 guys that should be able to contribute from jump and start right away. But I just don't like these 2 particular picks considering the way the 1st round was playing out. Bulaga was available the entire time, Frisco sacrificed another mid round pick to only move up 2 spots. Besides this draft is very deep with O-lineman. Saffold, C. Brown, Veldheer, Capers, Asamoah, Campbell, Ducasse, Petrus, Jerry are all good line prospects and are still on the board, some will be available in the mid rounds. I see no reason whatsoever to sacrifice a mid round pick to move and get the laziest lineman in the draft, once again only moving up 2 spots. Plus Davis would have likely been on the board @ 13 anyways.
Also, what happened to the BPA draft strategy? Morgan, Bryant, E.Thomas, are clearly higher rated prospects than both the guys Frisco got. Then you still have the Jimmy Clausen factor. Now truthfully I'm not real high on Clausen personally, but I also don't have a ton of confidence in Alex either. This is Alex's end all be all make or break year, no more excuses. He has a great back, enough viable weapons to throw to, and now has a supposedly highly talented/revamped o-line, and will be in the same system.
At least the 2 picks wasn't Taylor Mays and Tim Tebow

And like I've been saying, that is the only knock on Iupati. He's gonna be a dominant OG, who cares that guards don't usually go high. He has also shown the ability to maybe switch to tackle later on.

SF should trade down in the 2nd round since Nate Allen has been drafted. I wouldn't mind gambling on Taylor Mays with a 2nd rounder either.

49ers get a steal in the 2nd round with Taylor Mays. ivang can have an orgasm now. I actually agree with him that Mays is a good safety, just not in the 1st round.

No team completely follows the BPA available. Morgan is a 4-3 defensive end so why would we go for him. Bryant had just as many issues as Davis regarding character. Earl Thomas was a player I liked but he had issues with height. Anyways my point is every prospect at the point where we were at has some issues. Some consider Davis the top rated offensive tackle and Singletary is a good motivator to make him realize his potential. Iupati had some concerns but every one thought he was the best guard and a good value for around where he went.

LOL at ahonui, thats exactly what I was thinking. Right when Mays got picked I thought "somewhere right now, ivang is creaming his pants." Mays has great potential combined with fantastic athletic ability and I think he can do more on the football field than Nate Allen.

I was actually kind of hoping the 49ers would wait until the 3rd or 4th round to get a safety and pick up Myron Rolle.

Ha alright you guys were right, a first round pick was a reach on him. But it all worked out in the end I guess! He was definetly the best player available there and the biggest need on the niner's list. Watch some highlights on him and just think how scared every team will be to pass across our middle. Hope he isnt forced to start before he's ready. Hopefully he's in around week 3-5.

You mean "her pants..." That's the only way to explain Ivang's infatuation with Mays... .

Umenyiora is a little bitch. All he does is complain. He should shut up and try and improve and get back into the starting lineup.

3rd round pick: Off the field issues and admitting marijuana toking Navorro Bowman. Singletary is going to have his work cut out for him with Anthony Davis and Bowman lol.
