Well it looks like the Chargers are openly shopping him, and he could be an elite pass rusher for the 9ers. Yes his performance has dropped since the surgery but that should mean we can get him on a discount. Don't know if he's big enough to be the third DL but could be the solution to the Manny situation and further strengthen our D.

I like the dude, but he has certainly taken a giant step back since he stopped hittin the juice. He's definitely more talented than any pass rusher currently on the roster, but he has been pedestrian for like 2 full years now and also wants a monster extension.

The most I would prolly go would be something like Lawson/'11 3rd/rights to Detroit's 7th from the Hill trade for an extended Merriman on a half reasonable deal.

Supposedly San Diego's asking for a 2011 2nd round pick. Too much IMO for a guy who wants to get paid like an elite pass rusher but hasn't been one in a couple years.

A 4th just sounds to low, I suppose a 3rd could work though. But definetly not deserving that much money.

Merriman is done. That knee injury ruined him.
