Alright I mentioned this before the draft but I think it's time to bring it up again. The niners' defense is so close to being elite, being the next Ravens of the beginning of the decade. We have the best MLB leading a solid LB corps, we have what I believe to be the best young safety corps (Mays will be a stud mark my words), we have solid D-line, Spencer is good enough to be the #1 CB for us, but will be deadly as the CB2.

The Raiders are a team in rebuild without a 1st round pick this year (Traded to New England). They don't have a lot of solid veteran leaders and are... well the Raiders. I believe it was amazing how much we were able to grab in the draft. Minus a CB we addressed every spot of need on the team. Next years draft shouldn't be to important to us unless Smith proves to be a bust (I personally have high hopes) and we need to find a new QB. I think it wouldn't be to hard for the 9ers to go out and offer the Raiders a decent deal for their star corner.

As for the trade I think the a reasonable trade would be Namdi Asomugha for the 49ers 1st rd pick plus their 4th round pick and Nate Clements. 9ers get their shut down corner, Raiders get two more picks, 1 in the 1st round to rebuild with, and Nate Clements comes in as a Veteran FS (to slow for corner) to help lead the defense. The exchange of players also helps the niners financially since both have rather large contracts.

I would piss my pants if the 49ers managed to get Asomugha.
