The Rams will have to face Patrick Willis after all. Willis, injured in the first quarter of a Week 13 game against St. Louis, is active and will start today's game. The team's five-time pro bowl linebacker had missed the three previous games with the injury.

The news is not nearly as good for the 49ers at receiver. Ted Ginn (ankle) and Kyle Williams (concussion) both are inactive. That means that Brett Swain will make his second NFL start, his first for the 49ers. It also means that newcomer Joe Hastings, promoted from the practice squad Saturday, promises to see a lot of action as well. In an emergency, the 49ers also could turn to rookie safety Colin Jones, who went through a handful of training camp practices as a wide receiver.

Without Ginn and Williams, the 49ers' return men likely will be safety Reggie Smith on punt returns and running back Kendall Hunter or cornerback Chris Culliver on kickoffs.

Yikes. We need this win....

Not a pretty 4th quarter, but we clinch #2!

Aldon didn't get the record, the Rams broke up any chance of us finishing with only 1 or 2 rushing TDs touchdowns (3 all season is still impressive but still), but we got the win....

So, i guess i missed the game, and have a massive hangover, but glad to wake up to a win, even though it sounds ugly.

Wasn't very until into the last 10 minutes. We started resting guys and got a little lackadaisical and the Rams made a furious almost-comeback.

With a depleted receiving corps, nice that Crabtree and Vernon stepped up their game. Also good to see Hunter get good yardage. Still not convinced Gore is healthy, hopefully these two weeks do him well. Obviously, hopefully these two weeks also let Ginn and Kyle get healthy too. I am less optimistic about Delaine though, doubt we'll see him again this season.

Oh, and the fake FG was pure awesome.

Sloppy finish and we didn't get the records I was hoping for, but we got the 2 seed and that's all that really matters.
