Mock Draft

I wanted to give Walter Football's mock draft which goes up to 5 rounds. Let's discuss how we would feel if this played out.

1st Round - Coby Fleener - TE - Stanford
2nd Round - Kelechi Osemele - G - Iowa State
3rd Round - Nick Toon - WR - Wisconsin
4th Round - Michael Brewster - C - Ohio State
5th Round - Keith Tandy - CB - West Virginia

I would be excited if the draft happened this way. To me the biggest need is right guard and we would get someone who could potentially play right away. I also like that we are getting more offensive weapons for Smith. The first four picks on offense means we won't really be getting any contributors on defense for this year but that isn't a huge deal. We can draft developmental defenders in the later rounds since we don't necessarily need anyone to contribute this year anyway.

Actually love that mock.
I'm becoming a bigger fan of Fleener by the day. I would love to see him paired with VD in a 2 tight end set. I think that would make us very dangerous.
Also, adding him to our offense along with Jacobs would significantly boost one of our biggest problem areas, which was 3rd downs and red zone situations.
I haven't seen a lot of Osemele but that would help bring good competition at our only real hole.
WR in the 3rd just adds more competition to that spot and I've heard good things about Toon. Only watched him play once and he was fairly impressive.
We then add some more interior line depth in the 4th and bring in someone else to compete at corner in the 5th.
Let's make it happen.

Would love to see Fleener in first round.
The second round, Amini Silatolu, G/T, Midwestern State. Some mocks have him in the late first or early second, but could be a steal this late.
The third round, Casey Hayward of Vandy. The Niners have had trouble guarding the slot receivers and could use more youth.
The fourth, Trevor Guyton, DE, California. Justin Smith played over 90 percent of the snaps and Ray McDonald played over 80 percent of the snaps. A needed quality backup.
The fifth round, Joe Long, OT, Wayne State. Brother of Jake and could be the new Adam Sydner. A swing player along the offensive line that can play center as well.
The sixth, Kelcie McCray, S, Arkansas Stae. Youth and depth is needed.
The seventh, Jacquies Smith, DE/OLB, Missouri. Need another pass rusher and a fourth OLB for depth.

Agree pretty much 100%. Our biggest needs are an OL and more weapons for Alex - anyone who addresses one of those two needs (Fleener, Hill, Glenn, Martin, Adams, Konz, etc.) would be a solid pickup.

Not a fan of a Fleener pick, I think the value and need at OL and DB matches up at 30. Another option I like is trading out of the first and into the first few picks of round 2. At that point, I'd look at someone like Silatolu, who is rising up the boards and could possibly contribute right away at RG.

^^ There's been some talk that Silatolu is the guy Baalke's zeroed in on.

If I were in charge, I'd go Fleener or offensive line in the first (which ever I thought was better value) and pick up one of the many solid second-tier wideouts (Jeffery, Randle, Sanu, Quick, Toon, etc.) in the second round - IMO the WR position is deep but not top-heavy, perfect for us to get good value with our late 2nd.

Then fill out the rest of the draft with value picks. I'd also love to take a shot on Burfict in the 4th or 5th rounds, if anyone can get his head on straight it's Harbaugh/Willis.
