Win on the road vs Green Bay would be colossal. Go Niners.

Niners should get on with Kap's career..Alex Smith is a backup level talent.

Alex is a backup at best? Where are you getting this information from? The Madden 13 player ratings? Smh.

Right now, Alex Smith is the better QB. Kap has to prove he's better than smith before he can takeover. So until than, let Alex lead this team, damn.

Niners showing confidence in Kap. If they didn't like his progress, they likely would have kept the journeyman, JJ, as an emergency starter instead of Tolzien who is the clear third stringer.

Smith is far anda way better than Kaep right now. Colin's short passing game is shaky right now, he tends to rocket it in there far too often. His deep game isn't good enough (he still overthrows guys) to warrant a start over Smith.

First and foremost though is that our team is based on five principles. Field positioning, defensive intensity, forcing turnovers, special teams excellence and playing relatively error free ball on offense. If our success was predicated on an explosive offense with high reward/risk plays being made then maybe we would think of going elsewhere, but until then it's Smith all the way.

If we have Kaep out there sending a bullet to a cornerback on the 30 yard line, that's game over man. We aren't explosive enough to recover from that stuff. Also, Smith's poor play on deep balls is overstated. He doesn't have a cannon for an arm but he can throw it deep with good accuracy.

As for the game, this should be awesome. I still hate the Packers from the snowing Lambeau Brett Favre days, we never could win there. More excited for week 2 though. I'll be going to the game and look forward to heckling Schwartz' Thugs.

They sure didn't, but I guess it means they think we're legit though 8-)

I'm so beyond pumped for this.

The parys injury hurts a lot, but thankfully he was probably our least talented staring LB last season and was slotted to be our 5th LB this year, though it wouldn't be crazy to make a case for Grant being more valuable.

All I'm saying is it could have been much worse. I'm not sold on Brooks or Aldon as starters either. Brooks was a monster in college who fell to the supplemental draft due to disciplinary issues so I know he has the talent, but he was always an MLB and ever since he joined the Niners he seems to only go 100 MPH. Good and bad thing. As for Smith, let's hope last season wasn't a fluke.

Common now, Aldon can only get better (unless injured, of course)... I am looking for him to develop a better overal game, sort of like d. ware did over his years with Dallas... Also, Aldon has a great group of guys and coaches to learn from... I think Aldon might be the key to Green Bay game... If he can get to Rogers, 49ers have a good chance at winning...

Very, true. Should be an exciting player to watch when his time is due. Right now, though -- I'm all about supporting Alex Smith. It's just nice to see him finally on a winning team, leading the way.

I have no confidence in Randy Moss.
I was right about 3 point shooting. I expect to be right about Tacko Fall. Some coach will figure out how to use Tacko Fall. This movement towards undersized centers will sweep ng back. Back to the basket scorers will return to the NBA.

Only a field goal, but I'll take it.
