Florida Prosecutors Offer to Drop Charges Against Patriots Owner Robert Kraft
The proposed deal, however, calls for Kraft to admit he would have been found guilty at trial

https://www.wsj.com/articles/florida-prosecutors-offer-to-drop-charges-against-patriots-owner-robert-kraft-11553014972?mod=e2tw

How often is this proposed to a defendant like this in such cases I wonder?

I can't speak to solicitation cases specifically, nor can I speak to a case that was this involved, but I will say that generally speaking, it is very uncommon for a dismissal to be conditioned upon an admission of guilt. In my experience, either there is enough evidence to advance a case or there is not. Certainly prosecutors will negotiate lesser charges/sentences in weaker cases, but dismissals are pretty rare.

Having said that, from the looks of things, Kraft is a small fish in what was a much more complicated case where the authorities were really after the human trafficking element. A somewhat unorthodox resolution would be less unusual in that case. I would be pretty surprised to see that sort of a resolution if we weren't going to see some sort of significant charges in the human trafficking case, though.

Ultimately, the reality is that, outside of his fame and the potential seriousness of the wider investigation, Kraft's part in it is not the sort of case that a prosecutor's office would pursue all that aggressively. Though that could vary geographically. There's a pretty good chance it wouldn't even be charged in many jurisdictions if it arose in isolation.

Stephen A. Smith Asks How Mike Trout Contract Affects Mike Scioscia, Who Is No Longer Angels Manager

This one isn't NFL related THIS time but comes on the heels of last week's Tress Way blunder and last month's Haskins incident AND then prior to that changing his opinion within a couple day's time on whether Kyler Murray should be taken at #1 (my favorite topic of his 3).

I'd muuuuuuuuuuuuuuuch rather have him in a Saints uniform than a Patriots one. To my knowledge he never took a visit there so the initial talk of him going there might have been overblown but it scared the heck out of me. For that, it's a small offseason win in my world.

Lions signed TE Logan Thomas. Bills didn't tender him this year.

Long been one of my favorite (late-round) project players and one of those guys I'd be ok being realllllllllly wrong about before I give up hope of him being anything. This'll be year 6 and he's now on team #5 (2 separate stints with the Lions) so if we haven't entered into "he'll never be anything" territory already, we're probably getting quite close to it.

Julio Jones Could, and Should, Be the NFL's Highest-Paid Receiver

https://bleacherreport.com/articles/2826893-julio-jones-could-and-should-be-the-nfls-highest-paid-receiver

My understanding is the Falcons and Jones are closing in on a deal that would pay him $20 million a year over a four- or five-year contract extension. He would get anywhere from $50 million to $60 million in new guarantees, one source told me.

$2M more per year than Beckham's new deal. Slightly less than $3.5M less/year than Antonio Brown's deal. $3.8M/year less than the deal Hopkins signed in 2018.

Sheesh! This was my plan/wish for how the 49ers offseason was supposed to start at this spot. Both guys.
