7. Tight end Logan Thomas has performed consistently well through five practices. He's on the third team, but manages to draw attention for running good routes and catching the ball well. Charles Clay and Nick O'Leary remain in the first two spots at the position, but Thomas isn't too far behind at this point.

If you were somebody who hadn't been keeping up with his transition, that's VA Tech quarterback Logan Thomas they are referring to. Was crushed when the Cardinals took him and thought they might be able to hit on his ceiling, and despite being a project, was surprised at how much of a flop that experiment seemed to go for them/him.

When I heard of the position transition idea, it instantly became one of my favorite transition stories to want to follow in the entire league.

The latest on Ryan Tannehill’s injury situation as Miami Dolphins await results of MRI

http://www.miamiherald.com/sports/spt-columns-blogs/armando-salguero/article165200422.html

The Dolphins know that Tannehill hyperextended his left knee -- the same one that last December suffered a partially torn ACL That is the minimum of what the player is dealing with now.

A source close to Tannehill said there is the possibility of poster cruciate ligament damage.

If Tannehill has a PCL sprain it is possible he would not require surgery but would need time to rehabilitate and heal on his own and that could take anywhere from two to eight weeks, depending the serverity of the injury.

There is also the possibility of the worst case scenario that everyone within the Dolphins organization is hoping to avoid: That would be a torn ACL to the left knee. That injury would almost certainly be a season ending injury.

Even if Tannehill sustained a sprained ACL, sprains are partial tears. And so the location of the tear would determine if Tannehill could recover from that without surgery. Obviously, if Tannehill suffers an injury to the same portion of the ACL that he injured last year, that would likely lead to surgery.

And this: It is possible Thursday’s knee injury is unreleated to last year’s knee injury.

Kansas State WR Brandon Banks
Oklahoma WR Jalen Saunders
Florida A&M WR Brian Tyms
LSU WR Terrence Toliver (injured)
Cincinnati WR Vidal Hazelton
Auburn WR D'haquille Williams (injured)
Oklahoma State WR Adarius Bowman (injured - Eskimos top WR)

Southern Miss OL Lamar Holmes
Louisiana-Lafayette OT D'Anthony Batiste
Miami OT Joel Figueroa (injured)

Clemson DE Da'Quan Bowers
Houston DE Phillip Hunt (injured)

Clemson LB Kavell Conner

Richmond CB Justin Rogers

I'd rather sign Tannehill this offseason on the cheap than pay out the nose for Cousins, when I don't see a huge difference between them as players.

Jets waived Bruce Ellington with a failed physical designation stemming from last season's hamstring injury.

----------

On a different note. The Raiders have lost Keith McGill to a Jones fracture and will be out quite a while. Had big time interest in him in the draft and was curious to see how much playing time he could push for this season.

Good luck with that. Sadly it delays the end of his television career as well. :)

To be fair, my interest level was far greater at CB than at safety where more NFL types, including the Raiders, were going to try him.

:banghead: Miami picked up a better QB off the street than any QB the Niners have had since Steve Young. And they're waiting a year for friggn' Cousins, who is also worse than Cutler. :noway:

One year, $10 million contract with another $3 million available via incentives for Cutler.
