Got to say it again. Carson Wentz's ball placement at times is something special. If he does that with a little more consistency on some of the easier ones, oh boy..................

From a viewership standpoint, this season was becoming harder and harder to watch because of the collective garbage going on (thanks off season/practice rules) but this just sinks it for me. They were easily the most fun product going IMO.

Another thing I'd like to see stopped before 2018 gets here?
Athletes that go out of their way to tell people they have something special brewing. Or that "we're so close."

Re: Around the NFL Thread
Josh McCown broke his non-throwing hand. Surgery decision pending.
Petty should finish up the year for them. I thought when he was drafted that he was light years away from me feeling like I'd be comfortable with him playing for somebody I have an emotional stake in but I always liked him as a developmental guy. I felt like he'd have made for an interesting story if he could've gotten with Sean Payton in his offense and developed for a couple years.
At the same time I always thought John Morton (current Jets OC) couldn't coach a lick in the NFL either. Some of his successes this year surprised me quite a bit. I've always had a strong like for McCown, too, though.

Steelers RT Chris Hubbard has been one of my favorite injury replacement players to watch so far this year. Filling in for Marcus Gilbert. He's playing on a dirt cheap 1-year deal this year and will be a FA in the off season. Should be interesting to see what'll happen with him. He'll probably have far more value to the Steelers than a lot of other teams but he's somebody that I'd keep an eye on what takes place with him. He's played well against some upper level competition.

Steelers FB Roosevelt Nix's TD is my favorite one of the week. What a catch! And that's saying something considering I might be the biggest Ravens fan that isn't actually a Ravens fan.

Roethlisberger just went over 500 yards passing....against the Ravens. They average just under 200 yards per game given up. Yeah, he's thrown darn near 70 times in the game.
He's the first player in NFL history with more than three 500+ passing yard games.

If only there were more Joe Thomas' AS PEOPLE in the game. Never mind the quality of athlete he is.

Seahawks are a bunch of babies. Such poor losers. That's bush league. You want to keep hitting while they're in victory formation, go ahead. But Bennett should have seen a one-game suspension for that roll. Dirty play.

Michael Bennet probably owns the crown for douchiest player in the NFL right now.

The funniest sad thing about this is you could make an argument for his own teammate - Sheldon Richardson. Check out the disgusting arrest details.

Re: Around the NFL Thread
I'm always reluctant to highlight corner play when it's as short as a 3-game span but Xavien Howard's play lately deserves a small mention. His last 3 games:
Targeted 17 times
Allowed 2 receptions
Allowed 30 reception yards
4 INTs
4 PDs
I've seen around 2/3 of his play over that span, and I would acknowledge that his body positioning could still improve, but that's really, really, really good considering that's come against 2 games vs. New England with a Denver game in the middle of the two.
I'm not going to be the "I told you so" guy or the "How could (insert team name here) have passed on that guy" however many times they did, especially when it's only been 3 games, because I've been on the wrong side of that one so many times, but I'm just really happy for that guy personally.
He had major consistency issues in college where he'd look like a guy that I thought could be one of the better corners in the game but then he'd have short stretches where he'd drive you crazy with staying disciplined (not biting so much going for the big play every time) and doing stuff that would get him flagged time and time and time again.
If the negative trait stuff I'm talking about scared you off then then you might be somebody that will think he could be prone to eventually fall off a cliff here considering he had technique issues coming in. That's fair to a degree. That's part of the reason why I'm not going to be the guy I said I could be in addition to not being much like that type anyway.
Anyway, if you haven't taken the opportunity yet to watch him and you admire new age CB play and where we're likely headed with that position, Howard is worth watching and somebody you might enjoy seeing play.

Top 25 offensive linemen of the 2017 NFL season

22. JOE STALEY, T, SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS – 82.3 OVERALL GRADE
PFF Elite Stat: Staley has allowed 21 total QB pressures this year on his 469 snaps in pass protection.
At his best, Joe Staley had a season as the No. 1 ranked tackle in football, and while he has never quite returned to that level, he remains a top quality starter, even in an offense that has had more than its fair share of struggles, and been blocking for a rookie quarterback for most of the season. Staley has surrendered four sacks and 21 total pressures all season, and after two rough outings in that area to begin the season, has been far better as the season has gone on.

He's the 8th tackle on this list. He's currently their 10th best tackle in their grades section this year. He was their top tackle several years ago. Can't remember which year that was but his grades from them are as follows:
2017 - 82.3
2016 - 81.1
2015 - 86
2014 - 87.8
2013 - 84.7
2012 - 89.5
2011 - 79.7
2010 - 69.5
2009 - 81.5
2008 - 79.2
2007 - 81.7
