Thoughts on the possibility of 29-year-old Gronk to the Niners?

Can he rush the QB? The sticking point is how much draft capital it would take to get him. Don't want to mortgage the future on a TE that might not be around.

Clearly, since the Niners have nothing but cap room.

The offense would be pretty badass with Gronk at TE IMO. As you pointed out: still need an edge rusher for the D.

Mortgaging draft capital, not cash. The contract would not be as much of a concern as the picks we'd have to trade away to get him. Seems like this potential trade is dead anyway.

Damn. Browner charged with attempted murder, robbery, burglary. Those are some serious charges. He could do real time.

Where they get all this money?

They won’t pay Donald and they traded away one of their LBs.

But they’re paying the players they acquire?

I heard one theory that Donald is waiting to sign because he wants the biggest deal. So he's waiting for other players like Mack to sign their big contracts and he wants to sign after, in order to get the most dollars.

They traded away a LB who is athletically gifted but has zero instincts. That's borderline addition by subtraction. They also cut Tavon Austin and his absurd contract, which presumably saved them some space. Donald is going to become the most highly paid defensive player in the league, so I can see why they're taking some time with it.

This dude was one of my favorite prospects in last year’s draft class. If I’m ShanaLynnch, I’m bringing him in... Stash him on our practice squad:

Bucky Hodges - TE - Free Agent

Jets waived TE Bucky Hodges.

That clears a roster spot for RB George Atkinson. A sixth-round pick of the Vikings last year, Hodges has yet to play an NFL snap.

I sorta wanted him, he would be a great replacement for Garçon next year:

Corey Coleman - WR - Bills

Bills acquired WR Corey Coleman from the Browns in exchange for an undisclosed pick in the 2020 NFL draft.

It's the second major deal between these two franchises since Tyrod Taylor was sent packing to Cleveland back in March. Coleman is just two seasons removed from being selected No. 15 overall but has missed 13 of a possible 32 games to a pair of broken hands. His presence should immediately slide second-year receiver Zay Jones down Buffalo's depth chart and eat into what was supposed to be sheer volume for Kelvin Benjamin. This move also creates an immediate scenario for Dez Bryant to sign with the Browns. Standout rookie Antonio Callaway is expected to make noise as the team's No. 3 receiver barring any addition.

Aaron Donald - DL - Rams

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports holdout Aaron Donald has "no plans" to report to the Rams "anytime soon."

Earlier Monday, coach Sean McVay said he doesn't believe anything will change on the Donald front "in the near future." This comes on the heels of COO Kevin Demoff admitting the sides "just don't agree" on contract parameters, though discussions remain open. Donald very likely -- and rightfully so -- wants to be the highest-paid defender in the league. The Rams have been handing out money left and right since the end of last year; it's unfortunate Donald hasn't seen any.

Corey Coleman - WR - Bills

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports the Bills gave up a seventh-round pick in 2020 for Corey Coleman.

Seventh-round picks are not worth much to begin with, and that is doubly true for a pick which will not convey until 2020. The price both accentuates how good a move this is for Buffalo and how much Cleveland wanted to get rid of the 2016 first-round pick. Coleman is heading into arguably the worst passing game in the league, but he should see more targets than he would have with the Browns.

A 2020 7th rounder? Wow. That's effectively no value. It is absolutely brutal for a franchise like Cleveland to lose a first-round pick after two years. Now the real question is this: what is Coleman's fantasy value?

Not much in Buffalo. Man, I wish we had made a move on him. Even if it meant not activating for the first quarter of the season until her learned the entire playbook. He would be a monster in Pierre Garcon's position.
