Hadn't seen this until yesterday. Pretty incredible story. Former Oregon player and Niners' low-level assistant coach who is now coaching a HS team in OR seemingly prevented a school shooting with his quick reaction:

And, this is awfully grim, but it's striking me that if the shooting hadn't been prevented, it would have been two school shootings in two weeks that hit close to home for teams playing in the NBA West playoffs. That's grim.

Update: Doctors thought Foster was pounding the turf cause he was injured, but he was just hallucinating about laying next to his girlfriend.

Eh tough to tell with him.
This is the same guy at least once a game looked like he had a devastating injury, head to the blue tent, and bounce back onto the field after a couple of plays.
I'm sure if you went inside that blue tent one of the benches would have a sign "Reserved for Reuben"

Maccagnan wasn't near special, and eventually needed to go IMO, and maybe Gase and company back into something special, but good luck with Gase as your coach and double good luck having him as a large piece in hiring your next GM and creating that kind of structure.

• Gase is now the interim GM of the Jets, which one high-level evaluator with another team said "is the biggest mistake anyone in the NFL has made in years. Gase is crazy. He's the most paranoid person in the world. This will be like Todd Haley on crack."

Possible artery damage. I'm not sure what that means relative to, say, an ACL and meniscus tear (as the "plus" damage). I'd imagine that anything that causes issues with blood flow to the limb would be very bad, but it would be that it's relatively easy to repair.

Bears TE Zach Miller had an artery issue when he had that devastating injury but I'm guessing that was a fairly more urgent situation and (far?) more serious than this one. I can't think of another pro ACL where artery came up.
