Just when it looked safe to write off Teez Tabor after a rough 2018, the cornerback is making waves again.

Odd man out? Michael Roberts vying for role in Detroit Lions' TE room
https://www.freep.com/story/sports/nfl/lions/2019/06/04/detroit-lions-michael-roberts-tight-ends/1345547001/
And finally, a 2nd guy I had as a draft target who I would value more than a Levine Toilolo and see if he could ascend from that roster spot from there. I have been a bigger Celek fan than most but he has a really scary concussion problem and I'm not sure he'll ever bounce back from that. That leaves Toilolo, Kaden Smith, Dwelley, and Mayfield as his roster competition behind Kittle.
Kaden is almost definitely a lock and Toilolo has the Shanahan connection but I like Roberts more if it's just me calling it. And their games are somewhat comparable if you're looking at it from the perspective of having/needing a guy that does what they both do.
Would I move on from Celek for a Michael Roberts in a one vs. one situation? Yeah, at this point I probably would if it was Celek vs. Roberts instead of Roberts vs. Toilolo.

Of course - the Patriots.
Lions waive Michael Roberts after trade with Patriots is rescinded

If Roberts could ever get physical clearance, once again I'd take him over Kaden Smith, Ross Dwelley, Levine Toilolo (most comparable player for roster need purposes), Tyree Mayfield, and probably over Celek at this point with where he's at physically.

I'm still bitter even if the guy has hurt himself by some of his choices.
That’s a good fit for him IMO in terms of scheme.

■ The Eagles have said they’re not worried about Carson Wentz’s injury history, and now they have backed it up. Wentz, previously under contract for $4 million this year and $22.78 million next year, instead signed a new six-year contract that is being reported as a $128 million extension.
The deal reportedly has a complicated structure, full of option bonuses and escalator clauses and odd numbers. Jason Fitzgerald of Over The Cap explained that this was done to get around a little-known “30 percent rule” in the collective bargaining agreement, which “limits the amount of salary that a player’s contract can increase by in the uncapped years that extend beyond the terms of the CBA.” The CBA expires in 2021, but Wentz’s deal goes through 2024.
“So a creative way around the 30 percent rule limit is to use escalator clauses that are a virtual certainty to be earned by giving the player a million different ways to earn it, even if the NFL doesn’t consider it that way,” Fitzgerald wrote.

The real story in the Patriots-Texans clash: Nick Caserio wants out
https://www.bostonglobe.com/sports/patriots/2019/06/17/the-real-story-patriots-texans-clash-nick-caserio-wants-out/6Aw1Fmk7i3I2N0lO9wldvJ/story.html
The Patriots, if they want, have a year to convince Caserio to stay. He and his old college buddy Josh McDaniels are obvious candidates to replace Belichick, whenever he moves on (though no one I’ve talked to thinks that day is coming soon). Caserio may want out, but money always talks.

In the traditional sense, if he continues to follow a Kyle Shanahan structure, a lot, including all the protection calls, will fall on their center and not Rodgers.

There's something to be said for a scheme fit, but if he couldn't get on the field for last year's Raiders team, it's not looking like he's long for the league. Too bad. I really liked that pick when we made it.

Maybe Caserio wants a new challenge and get out from under the shadow of Bill Belicheck?

The 49ers under Baalke misused him but at the same time it is pretty apparent that he just isn't very good. A role player at best.
