Adam Schefter:

Jets owner Woody Johnson is preparing to hire former Texans and Redskins GM Charley Casserly as a consultant in the event the organization decides to make any changes, per league sources.

The jobs of Jets head coach Rex Ryan and John Idzik both are very much in jeopardy and, should the Jets make any changes, Johnson would be ready to move forward with the football expertise and manpower he would need surrounding him.

Casserly is excellent in the media world but if you're somebody that likes having good football people with good minds in the game then you need to root for him to get a job IN THE LEAGUE somewhere IMO.

The Falcons have interest in New England offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels, sources said, as well as Denver offensive coordinator Adam Gase, and would also want to interview Bowles. Detroit defensive coordinator Teryl Austin, having an outstanding campaign in his first year running an NFL defense, is also gaining increasing traction in Atlanta and they are expected to put in a quick request to interview him as well.

There is a growing thought around the league that Rex Ryan ends up in Atlanta as well -- with Blank wanting a personality he can sell and market as he tries to sell PSLs to a new stadiums -- although I continue to hear the allure of a broadcasting job is very real for him. Ryan interviewed for the Falcons job in 2009 and, sources said, did well overall with the process and left a good impression on Blank, though some involved in the process would be less inclined to endorse Ryan.

Broncos signed former Niner WR Kyle Williams to a reserve/future contract. Interesting only because of the team and fit.

Ndamukong Suh - DL - Lions

Sources tell Yahoo Sports as many as 10 teams are prepared to make "titanic pitches" to impending free agent Ndamukong Suh.

Per reporter Charles Robinson, that includes the Jaguars, Browns and Raiders, who are projected to have the most cap space this offseason. The Jets and Falcons could also be in the mix. Robinson reports the Lions are open to the franchise tag even though it would cost an otherworldly $26.7 million. The Lions would have to undertake all sorts of cap wizardry to make that number work. Detroit knows it would be foolish to let Suh get away, but the financial particulars make it a real possibility.

Per @RapSheet, Cowboys have had a 4-year deal worth more than $16M on the table for DeMarco Murray. No wonder he hasn't signed.

Hearing Dick LeBeau will be joining the Cardinals coaching staff at some point in a similar role as Tom Moore. He won't be the coordinator.

Can't get made in an educated way until we hear what he does for them exactly but emotionally I don't like them getting another quality mind at all.

Cardinals are considering DB coach Nick Rapone & OLB coach James Bettcher for their defensive coordinator. Hearing Rapone is the favorite.

Rapone? Hmm, that would be....interesting?. He has 30 years of college experience but only joined the Cardinals in 2013 as their DB coach. Bettcher started coaching in the NFL in 2012.

#Broncos are interviewing a wildcard: #Bengals DBs coach Vance Joseph. Played at CU. Coordinator prospect for many, HC prospect for Broncos

Cool. He was with the 49ers for 4 years as the 49ers assistant secondary coach and then promoted to full time secondary coach when Johnny Lynn left for personal reasons (2006-2010). He went to the Texans for two years after he left the 49ers (DB coach) and then became the DB coach in Cincinnati. I like him very much as a man and was one of the MANY quality assistants the 49ers had while Nolan was around.

Josina Anderson:

Source: Lions defensive coordinator Teryl Austin has withdrawn from consideration for the Broncos head coaching vacancy, at this time. He was scheduled to interview Friday.

Two things:

1.) If you're a 49ers fan who worries about Vic Fangio's landing spot you should probably hope that Austin gets the head coaching job in Atlanta, but there's been numerous reports that they are waiting around for Dan Quinn.

or

2.) You should hope that Washington can convince Fangio (and Donatell) to join them before the Seattle DC job comes open. Washington has been said to be the favorites for both Fangio and Donatell. However, if that happens I would expect Washington to heavily pursue Ahmad Brooks and possibly Perrish Cox if they have the room.
