Well this is frustrating. Luck is picking us apart, receivers can't get open.

This is not the same team I've gotten used to watching. Getting handled in the trenches.

Definitely not the same team. Of course our receivers are hurt, but the defense hasn't looked good either and what's their excuse? The o-line also can't open any lanes.

Not even a Niners fan but I really want them to win just to shut Seattle up. I don't think I've ever come across a more rabid bunch of blowhards going ballistic over a team that has never won a sausage and only made it to the playoffs last year thanks to a blown replacement ref call. And rich calling any team's fan base "whiners" after the ten years of tears following the Super Bowl loss. Jesus wept. Easy team to root against, that's for sure.
That's hilarious and co

Re: Week 3: 49ers vs. Colts
the niners look horrendously offensively. Unless the offense gets something going on the outside they look to be in trouble as teams will start stacking the box. they can't beat press coverage and can't get off the line.

Re: Week 3: 49ers vs. Colts
Kaepernick still looks hesitant to run. Even when he has an opening, he's kind of jittering around, letting the defense collapse, instead of just turning on the jets like he did last year. That's probably a long-term plan by the coaching staff to not make him one-dimensional, as he should be looking for receivers when he can run, but it seems to me it's putting him into an uncomfortable mode where he's not free to do what he does best. And without the threat of the run, coverage on receivers is going to tighten up. IMO he needs to just bust some big runs to establish that threat first. Seattle played good D, but there were definitely opportunities vs. the Colts for him to take off.

Re: Week 3: 49ers vs. Colts
I think teams are putting a spy on kap as well, which is why he's hesitating to run. Receivers can't beat one on one coverage, which allows teams to put 8 in the box, which is why we're not running the ball either. There's no deep threat that scares anyone so there's no need to put help over the top, receivers can't beat press coverage and kap doesn't really trust anyone out there so he's not really looking at the whole field.

When Alex Smith is the QB and winning its "he has the best O-line and talent in the NFL around him."
When Kaep is the QB and losing its "our O-line sucks and our receivers can't beat single coverage."

Did Alex smith play with any of these receivers other than Vernon? He may have played w kyle but kyle was like the 4th option not the 2nd. And when he was qb he didn't have much time to throw and that's still a problem. The o line is great at run blocking, pass blocking they're decent but they're not special.
I'd trade a 2nd for josh Gordon. He'd help open the o

Re: Week 3: 49ers vs. Colts
Is Gordon really for sale? I would think Cleveland keeps him if they are indeed looking to build something on that offense.
I thought they had a lot of success running the ball out of pro sets in that 90-yard TD drive yet somehow they stopped using it. I just don't get Greg Roman sometimes, if the Colts couldn't stop it, why not use it more often? Gore getting only 3 carries in the 2nd half in what was a close game until the middle of the 4th is inexcusable, especially given the struggles of the passing game. It's something I've noticed Roman do when the team falls behind in the past, he gets way too pass happy in his playcalling even in a game when they don't have to be. They need to go back to being a power, ground attack that sets up a playaction passing game, then you can mix in some spread looks, read-option, etc.

Pity me, I live in the Pacific Northwest, I have to listen to those idiots talk about their Seachickens AND get Seachicken games forced down my throat on tv. It's rather infuriating the number of times I've heard them cry about that Superbowl. Their fanbase is downright delusional.
