Kevin Greene, McBlt, Kyle Nelson, Colton Schmit, Alfonso Smith, Adam Snyder, Kion Wilson, Devon Wylie. Then the 7 PUP NFI guys come off and that equals 15.

Disagree with Snyder being cut so soon, he can play several places on the line. Maybe on the Saturday cuts but not Tuesday

Down to 75 – The 49ers must trim the 90-man offseason roster to 75 players by Tuesday afternoon and to 53 players by Saturday.

The team could start to reduce its numbers by placing players on injury lists such as the physically-unable-to-perform list and the non-football-injury lists.

Draft picks Brandon Thomas, Keith Reaser and Trey Millard, along with first-year player Marcus Lattimore, are eligible for the non-football injury list. NaVorro Bowman, Garrett Celek and rookie Kaleb Ramsey can go on the PUP list.

In both cases, the players don't count against the 53-man roster unless they are activated later in the season.

In addition, the 49ers could place nose tackle Glenn Dorsey on injured reserve with a designation to return. However, they are not expected to do so until Sept. 2.

Et cetera – Backup center Marcus Martin suffered a knee injury in the fourth quarter when another player fell on the back of his leg. Martin, a third-round pick in May, had to be carted off the field. Jim Harbaugh did not have an update on his condition

* Backup fullback Will Tukuafu suffered a head injury in the second half and was being evaluated for a concussion. Safety Ray Ventrone did not finish the game after suffering a hamstring strain. Safety Antoine Bathea did not play after suffering a concussion last week.

* Brandon Lloyd was the only active offensive player who did not suit up. Harbaugh had said Lloyd was dealing with a minor injury. Quinton Patton served as the No. 3 wide receiver while Stevie Johnson didn't enter the game until the third quarter.

* James, who wore a brace on his right arm to protect his injured elbow, handled kick returns to start the game while Bruce Ellington began as the punt returner. James switched to that role in the second half while Devon Wylie handled punts in the fourth quarter

Any other year I would agree but we have a couple jack of all trade oline men right now that are younger and cheaper so as a curiosity we cut Snyder early so he can find another team.

But we already have two new starters (or one if Boone returns) on the OL, too much turnover would be bad. What if one of our star tackles get injured and Boone never returns? 3 brand new players on an OL protecting Kap would be horrible. I think it really depends if Boone returns or not, imo

Even with Boone, our line would be thin. Starting Iupati, Boone, Kilgore, Davis and Staley with Snyder, J Martin, and Looney as backups. Marcus Martin's injury looked serious and without him, Snyder is our only legit backup at C.

Yea I think Snyder stays... both for his versatility along the line(good/bad) n his experience... no quarrels with that ATM.

Anybody think Acker makes the 53? He has looked pretty good to me. What about Morris? Is he a lock?

The San Francisco 49ers announced on Monday that they have waived the following seven players: quarterback McLeod Bethel-Thompson, safety D.J. Campbell, tight end Kevin Greene, running back Jewel Hampton, punt Colton Schmidt, linebacker Kion Wilson and wide receiver Devon Wylie. The team also released wide receiver David Reed.

Additionally, the 49ers placed running back Marcus Lattimore, fullback Trey Millard, cornerback Keith Reaser and guard Brandon Thomas on the Reserve/Non-Football Injury List. Not Niners news, but Alan Branch was cut. Hope he doesn't end up back with Seattle....

I saw Jacoby Ford cut too. We don't need him cuz we got ellington now but I thought he was a pretty good returner/deep threat.
