I'm now convinced Bill Belichick is extremely overrated as a GM. He's been ok at drafting (a HOF QB can make other draft picks look much better), but his trades have been downright dumb IMO. I think trading Richard Seymour may have cost him a SB ring, and this offseason the Pats were looking like the clear favourite in the AFC IMO. Unless they have a pro-bowl-caliber replacement for Mankins, I think this was kind of a dumb trade for the Pats.

I never understood the hype Belichick has gotten as a GM. Guy can coach but he's way overrated as a GM.

He just never makes the moves to take the team over the edge to win Super Bowls and to me the Pats could've had 2 or 3 more Super Bowl rings if he was a little more aggressive.

All he does is trade back in drafts and to grab okish players instead of trading up every once in a while to grab impact players.

That's the one thing I do think Baalke has does a good job of is balancing being aggressive and keeping an eye towards the future.

In the future if we could keep all stuff not involving the 9ers to the Around the League thread, that'd be great. Just keeps the board cleaner and easier to "navigate." Thanks!

That was my other thought. Once the season starts, that thread would be wrecked.

Most of the threads we start on here are, in some way, tied to the 49ers. For example this thread; we've been talking about Logan Mankins since he's been drafted, including trades to get him on the 49ers. This is why I posted it as an isolated thread.

Right, I'm just saying, on RealGM, most threads get locked at 100 pages. You'll find some random exclusions (especially if the mod isn't around), such as game threads (most don't want to lock it in the middle of a game), but most of the time a thread will get locked at 100 pages.
