Re: Cardinals Post Game Rage Thread.
**** a post game thread. It's called "My Thoughts on the Game." We beat Dallas, had a "My Thoughts on the Game" post-game thread that our Mod changed to "Cowboys-Niners Post Game Thread." We've lost every game since then. Delete this thread and let's get it done right.

Re: My Thoughts on the Game
Much better.
Now, I think we played undisciplined and stupid football. There were some questionable calls against us, but we took some really stupid penalties.
We need to find a way to get to the QB on defense. We have a young secondary that seems to get flagged for contact/holding ever 3rd down. If we can get some pressure, we have a chance to affect that.
Offensively, it was nice to come out and spread the field, but good God, can we take a shot once in awhile? Kap averaged 8 yards per COMPLETION. It seemed like the only pass that went 10+ yards in the air was the early one to Carrier. Other than that it was all BS hooks and outs. Twice AZ almost jumped passes to Crabtree because they weren't afraid of us going down field. With the emphasis on contact penalties, why aren't we trying to stretch the field?
It's also ridiculous that our RBs had a combined 9 carries.
I'm ready to see Harbaugh elsewhere. And I don't want him fired. I want to see Michigan fire Hoke and give Harbaugh 8-10M per year. Then we can use his bailing on us as a degree of motivation.
As for a replacement, let's get somewhat that can be somewhat innovative.

Re: My Thoughts on the Game
9 carries combined for Gore/Hyde. What happened to us being a power, run-first team? We don't have a Manning, Rodgers or Brees at QB. There's absolutely no excuse not to give the ball to our backs more.
Very little focus, composure and discipline for the third straight week, and especially in the second half. It's now developed into a pattern. That is a direct reflection of the coaching staff and our preparedness.

I didnt the understand the neglect of our RBs running game for a whole game... the start of it ok, cuz i figured we'll use it later.. no....
WTF is with Kap's keepers on the most illogical of moments????? Him n Roman just kill our drives...
Didn't enjoy the refs for the 3rd str8 gm....
we can't rely on our defense, no run stuffers, no pass rush, no blitzes and we get torched by Stanton?!?!?!!? go **** yourselves...

Re: My Thoughts on the Game
-First thing that comes to mind is we need to seriously look at coaching being our primary issue right now.
We've struggled in the 2nd half in 3 straight games which means to me other teams are adjusting and we're simply not or doing a piss poor job of it.
Which is amazing when you consider in 2011 the coaches were the smartest guys in the room and fast forward to today they're looking like some of the dumbest.
-3rd straight game where we got screwed over by the refs. Make no mistake we shot ourselves in the foot and that's what's cost us but some very bad calls have just been adding fuel to the dumpster fire.
-Pass Pro was atrocious again especially up the middle. I've ranted about pressure up the middle ad nauseum but the sooner Marcus Martin can take over for Kilgore the better and no way I give Lungepati top OG money until he can learn to pick up his feet and stay in front of guys instead of his routine of Lunge, whiff, turn, let guy get past and watch him sack the QB.
-I have to vent on this one but I'm so tired of seeing 3-4 man rushes and watching opposing offenses find a soft spot in the coverage and get an easy 10 yards to convert a 3rd down. It's like Fangio is so terrified of getting beat deep that we just constantly play a prevent style of defense. I'm no professional but Fangio just seems to have no creativity on defense and opposing offense adjust at the half and it goes downhill for our defense from there.
Just another frustrating loss in a game that we should win.

Re: My Thoughts on the Game
Kaepernick completed 78% of his passes with no INTs; OL only gave up 1 sack; no fumbles from the offense.
Ellington was held to 62 yards, with Fitz held to 34. Stanton didn't go off, per say, completing about 54% of his passes. The defense forced and recovered a fumble.
The difference in the game was the God damn mother **** bull**** penalties. SF lost 107 yards in penalties, while Arizona only had 36 yards of penalties. There were multiple missed calls when it would have been beneficial for the Niners, but the refs were pulling flags out of their asses every time Arizona needed a jolt to keep their momentum going. This is bull ****.
I'm not even mad at Harbaugh or the defense. Yes, it would have been nice if the defense could have mustered ONE **** sack or if Wilhoite could have CAUGHT THE INT THAT WAS IN HIS HANDS, but no team can win when they're playing against the refs.

I'm glad he said it and I really hope someone goes on a tirade about the officiating. As I said earlier we do have some well deserved penalties but there have been quite a few questionable calls that have come at terrible times.

I'm having Vietnam flashbacks of Nolan/Manusky's "soft nickel" or whatever the **** that stupid package was named.

To be fair they statistically may have only given up 1 sack but Kap saved them from giving up 4 more. It was a terrible day blocking for them and Roman hardly adjusted to the blitz that the Cards were just throwing at us almost every play.

If not for his absolute idiocy today, I would agree with him. He's not in a position to say it. His penalty was the costliest of the game IMO, and it was 100% justified. He should have been flagged for the same thing in the Super Bowl.

I blame a Bill Williamson of ESPN. Wasn't he assigned to us after Week One 2013? Our luck has been down since then.

You're right. You're right....
I also blanked on the blocked field goal. The replay of the offensive line "attempting" to block the Cardinals defense during that FG try was one of the most embarrassing displays of blocking I've seen in awhile.

while I agree he was an IDIOT, that doesn't mean he's wrong. But it does come off bad when he made a bone head play.CrimsonCrew wrote:Rvnight18 wrote:@MaioccoCSN: #49ers WR Anquan Boldin says the officiating has been one-sided, "The crap is costing us games."

Re: My Thoughts on the Game
Good job to Crabtree for breaking up the sure INT/potential pick six - even though Arizona scored on the next drive anyway.
Good job for the second week in a row for our backup tightens catching and holding on despite a big hit. Amazing, maybe Kaepernick should save him a hit sometime.

Re: My Thoughts on the Game
GLENDALE, Arizona – Wide receiver Anquan Boldin said it felt as if the 49ers were playing two opponents on Sunday.
Boldin tried to put a finger on why the 49ers have struggled in second half of games – again blowing a lead on Sunday in a 23-14 loss to the Arizona Cardinals.
“Yeah, and they wear black and white,” Boldin said.
Referee Gene Steratore's crew penalized the 49ers nine times for 107 yards, and some of them were costly.
Back-to-back hits on Cardinals quarterback Drew Stanton drew controversial penalties and moved Arizona 30 yards closer to a go-ahead third-quarter touchdown in the third quarter.
“For me, it’s been obvious the last two weeks the amount of calls that have gone against us and the amount of calls that we’ve gotten,” Boldin said. “It hasn’t been close. And every week it’s the same thing.
“You send the tape in, and the NFL just reports back, ‘We made a mistake.’ But at the same time, the crap is costing us games. At some point, they need to be held accountable.”
Boldin was guilty of an unnecessary roughness penalty when he head-butted Cardinals safety Tony Jefferson after a completition to the Arizona 6-yard line. The penalty moved the ball back to the 21, and the 49ers failed to score at a time when they were trailing 20-14.
Boldin said he was provoked.
“My penalty was my penalty. I shouldn’t have did it,” he said. “The guy’s been taking shots at me the whole game. I told the coach that. I told the ref that three times. ‘I didn’t see it . . . I didn’t see it . . . I’ll look for it.’ But as soon as we do something, wow, they see it. But when guys are doing crap to us, ‘We didn’t catch it.’”
Afterward, TV cameras caught Boldin in animated discussion with 49ers coach Jim Harbaugh.
“It wasn’t (an) exchange,” Boldin said. “He asked me a question, and I answered the question. It was after my personal foul, and he said, ‘Could you come to me or come to the ref?’ And I said, ‘Coach, I’ve gone to the ref on three different occasions. That’s not helping at all.’ ”
Two penalties that upset Boldin occurred when he was on the sideline. Dan Skuta was flagged for unnecessary roughness when he hit Stanton as he was sliding. On the next play, Patrick Willis was flagged another 15 yards for roughing the passer on what looked like a clean hit.
“If you look at it, it’s unbelievable,” Boldin said. “.And we’ll send the tape in, and they’ll tell us, ‘We made a mistake.’ But yet they got 30 yards down the field. And some of those are coming at crucial points, third downs when the defense is getting off the field. And now it’s first and 10.
“They’ll say we had a lot to do with it, and we did. We could’ve played better here and there, but it’s crazy.”

I was king of the Carrier bandwagon all offseason/preseason, so it has been exciting to see him be productive. I was kind of pissed he didn't get any more throws his way after he caught the 1st one.

He was switched to the Raiders this year, so can't blame him.
