Bethea was also on the Fitz & Brooks show on KNBR 680 like an hour ago. He now has the "Fitz & Brooks mojo" apparently.

I don't know why some people thought we were going to miss Whitner.

Bethea is better in coverage and comes with way less personal fouls and I'm not going to miss Whiner taking a poor angle and whiffing on a kill shot to give up a TD instead of making a tackle.

A lot of us on this board wanted Whitner to be upgraded for awhile. Did not think Bethea would be nearly this good. Thought that would be more of a sideways move and SS would be a position of weakness this year. Whitner made some big plays but cost us so major yardage in penalties and couldn't cover anything. Cox and Bethea have been welcomed surprises early on and hope they can both keep it up.

I didn't think he would be this good but I did have high hopes he would be a better player than he was as a Colt.

So far every secondary guy we've gotten from another team has performed better when they've gotten here. Part of that is they simply are on a better defense but the other part is I do think Donatell does a good job of getting the most out of guys.
