Ughhhh! Just checked the stats on ESPN, only 1 hit on Alex Smith today, came from Brooks. No hurries or sacks. Aldon cannot come back soon enough. And we have Manning coming up in two weeks! Why dont we activate Tank Carradine already!

I could have sworn Lynch hit Smith at least once today

This week ir seems Alex Smith was getting rid of the ball quickly. Alot.of short throws.

That was your biggest mistake.

Try not to use their numbers if you don't have to.
Ahmad Brooks had 2 hits on Smith (and a batted ball).
TJE and Lynch had 2 hurries. (Lynch batted a ball of Smith's).
McDonald, Willis, and Ian Williams all had 1 hit on Smith.

Through 5 games Alex Smith is getting the ball off on an average of 2.71 seconds, which is the 7th fastest in the NFL. Peyton, yet again, leads in that category (2.17).
Kaepernick, among 26 qualifiers, is on average getting the ball out in 3.07 seconds (only Geno Smith is taking longer - 3.09).
I shouldn't have to say it but just because you're holding onto the ball that long doesn't necessarily mean it's a bad thing either of course. Rodgers, Luck, Ryan, Rivers, Romo, Foles, Austin Davis, Kaepernick, and Geno Smith are at the bottom of that list, in order.

Lynch did have a hit on Smith. Look at the photo gallery of the game and go to picture 44 and you clearly see Lynch with his hands on Smith while he still had the ball in his hands.

I guess...But we still need more consistent pressure. They converted way too many 3rd downs in the 1st half.

No, that's fair. I wasn't saying the pressure was great. I just wanted to provide the numbers.

Part of that is because the Chiefs were getting the ball off quickly and for some inexplicable reason our DBs always seem to allow WRs in front of them for easy 5 yard 1st down conversions.

Matt Maiocco CSN:
Ask me that question in two years. But, clearly, it's not looking good right now. That said, I was impressed with what I saw from him in training camp.

So does Tank qualify as another bust pick?

Getting some maiocco love. Nice lol
Hopefully tank will live up to the hype of what his draft status was before the injury. We need to not miss a beat once Justin is gone.

I'm still in disbelief that Tank isn't playing more. Our pass rush is bad. On obvious passing downs, we should be giving Tank some shots to get after the QB. Lord knows Dobbs doesn't (or shouldn't) have a death grip on his spot. He's been mediocre at best when given a shot.
The good news is that once Aldon gets back, and and Lynch may prove to be a very effective outside duo. It would be great to combine that with Tank going up the middle.

Admittedly I'm a very casual fan of soccer but Real Madrid would be the team I would root for overall.
Was in Madrid this past March and took the Bernabeu tour which I highly recommend if you ever get a chance to take.

He must make
Kaepernick look like a genius. It's weird because he was playing great in the preseason (which sometimes means absolutely nothing). And we all know he has the natural pass-rush skills. If he's not getting playing time by the end of the year my boy may have to be classified as a B word.

Yes, Bernabeu was an awesome venue... seeing the trophies and past players, visiting the lockerrrooms n the pitch, nice touch. Also got to see an actual game!!!
I went back in December...

Smith's average time is going to look good as he wasn't waiting for long plays to develop downfield, He was most often passing on short routes or dumping it to the RBs.
