that were assigned to him in order to get his suspension reduced. A lack of more information in this is kind of frustrating.

And Schefter just reported that Aldon will become one of the rare, if not, then the only player in league history to PAY to play "for the privilege to play football" this season. His salary this season is $1.09M with a net after taxes of $525,000. The 49ers are "taking all his game checks for money he owes due to signing bonus forfeiture" and what he makes this season won't be enough to cover what he owes the 49ers so the team will take another $661,000 after the season. So not only will Smith not make a single dollar this season but he'll owe the 49ers $661K this season to play football.

Here's the graphic they showed if that was too confusing:

2014 salary - $1.099M
Net salary - $525K
$ owed to 49ers - $1.18M
Total owed after salary - $661K

Jesus, they can waive that if they want though, right?

Someone told Schefter a bunch of B.S. or he thought up a bunch of B.S. by himself. That is not how taxes work and that is just really **** math.

“He upheld all requirements,” agent Doug Hendrickson told PFT by phone.

Hendrickson also said that Smith had no specific requirements for counseling, but that Smith did indeed engage in counseling provided both by the league and externally. Smith also engaged in more than 280 hours of community service.

If Smith had specific counseling requirements in connection with his suspension that he failed to fulfill, then his reinstatement after completing the nine-game suspension should be jeopardized. It’s not.

I tend to agree with Aldon's camp on this.

Doesn't sound he would do all that community service and not take part the counseling aspect.

I just think the NFL has taken so much heat on discipline nobody is getting off the hook right now.
