The same report says Bowman out for year too. His knee is in too much pain to play.
I'm not buying it as no one is saying who is giving these reports.

Really Bowman too? I heard reports he still has pain but didnt hear anything that he is done for the year.
This season has just been a pile of sh*$. So much controversy, injuries, suspensions, crappy play, etc.

Just one of those years I guess.
Thank god for Borland playing like an animal lately.

God, we can't catch a break this year. It's incredible the D has been playing as well as they have. Let's hope we can keep it up.

Well, LB has really been about the least of our issues, even with those guys out.

Eric Reid is dealing with an ankle injury, too.

Give this D Aldon and Dorsey and we can rock and roll.

Most Consecutive Pro Bowl Selections by a Defender to Start a Career
Lawrence Taylor - 10 - 1981-1990
Derrick Thomas - 9 - 1989-1997
Patrick Willis - 7 - 2007-2013
I would guess that'll be done for with a number of weeks left of voting. Although there's the player and coaches vote left.

http://blog.sfgate.com/49ers/2014/11/11/fearing-for-his-future-willis-opts-for-season-ending-surgery/Sounds like the toe has been bothering him for years now so it sucks for this season but if he gets it fixed it might bode well for the future.
If Borland continues to play like he has I think we can ride out the storm until Bowman gets back (hopefully).
I've always seen Aldon as the most important player to get back on defense so if comes back to play at an elite level I think our defense can be good enough to win.

To be honest, I'm cool with shutting Bowman down as well. This year has been **** from start to finish and frankly, I'd rather have a healthy Bow and Willis next season then risk either of them re-injuring themselves worse. Borland has been playing out of his mind and Wilhoite has been serviceable, so I feel ok with doing that at this point,

I've dealt with chronic injuries during my bodybuilding days. Some of them you can only work through so long before they affect your performance and sometimes need surgery to correct
