@AdamSchefter
One NFL source convinced Raiders are the favorite to trade for HC Jim Harbaugh, but Jets also known to be keeping a close eye on situation.

I'd be stunned if they got one 2nd.

They might swing a 2nd depending on how many teams are seriously in the mix.

I could see Harbaugh staying if he turned around the offense in the next six games. Odds are slim.

Harbaugh Intrigue, the latest chapter: Yes, teams (like the Raiders) would be interested in trading for him, no he can’t be dealt without his permission

Right he cant be dealth without his permission. So if the team still makes the playoffs, its possible he becomes extended even. The madness....I dont see the 49ers firing him and getting nothing for him. Its either trade or extension.

Huh?
I just mean that's the only way I'd see the 49er front office thinking he'd be worth sticking with longer.

But we only have 4 games left in the season, are you assuming that somehow we would make the playoffs AND win 2 games?

No, but let's face it, the biggest problem is the offense and there are few better coaches than Harbaugh. If he turned the offense around, Like his brother did by firing his o coordinator mid season, that might be enough even without going into the playoffs.

If he was going to fire Roman he would have done it by now, he had 10 days off to prepare. He's going down with his OC
But the point was there are only 4 games left in the season, not 6.

I agree if he wanted to save his job Roman would've been gone. Maybe he didn't want to fire him on holiday weekend. Wishful thinking I guess.

He's been with Roman for what, 8 years now? I don't know if he was there the entire Stanford run or not, but he just doesn't seem like the type of guy to fire his staff. In fact, most of his staff has been with him for the past 4-6 years

Harbs won't be going to NY. Mrs. Harbs doesn't want to leave the Bay Area with their young children and I have a feeling she wears the Dockers in his family

Firing Roman likely wouldn't have much of an impact on the offense as he a major cog in the machine he's not the machine.
Harbaugh built the machine so in order for the offense to really improve most of the offense would need to be scrapped and retooled.
It's one of the biggest reasons Harbaugh probably hasn't fired Roman because it would be like firing himself .
