im thinking to myself, i've watched plenty of other non-49ers games this season and i cant vividly recall that penalty on anyone else but Willis n now Moody this season...

Hochuli defended his decision after the game, disputing Moody's claim that he made contact with his facemask.

"What happens is that you hit [with the hairline] and the next thing that happens is your head slides up," Hochuli said. "That's just the mechanics of the body. But, that's not what the initial contact is." Coach Jim Harbaugh said he didn't agree with the call, as well as two other personal-foul penalties on safety Eric Reid during a first-quarter drive which resulted in a field goal.
