Raiders will be interviewing our TEs coach Eric Mangini....They can have him, and please take Roman too!!....As long as the team retains Fangio, Tomsula, and Rathman I am happy...I like Ed Donatell too.

Most of the Mangini hate is some of the dumbest things I've seen this season with the 49ers considering I haven't heard from a single fan that has been able to talk in depth about the DETAILED handprint he had with the 49ers.

If somebody were to hate him for past transgressions, fine. I'll let that go but I haven't heard from anybody I know that has been able to really nail down what his handprint was on the team this season. Granted you could say that about most assistants and fans in the NFL IMO.

Offense declined with his arrival as an offensive consultant...

He was in charge of challenges at one point in which we were poor with...

Never achieved and wasn't as good as advertised as an ESPN analyst. His personality was quite a snake to me.

There's several people that can be blamed for the decline of the offense. It doesn't all fall on Mangini.

He was supposed to be the guy deciding on challenges and we sucked at that....loudly.

He was supposed to be a defensive mind to help our Offense by spotting tendencies. If he did help in this area I would love to see some evidence of it.

And he was our TE coach last year and TE production was horrible.

Not saying 100% goes on him but he bears some of this load

And I haven't seen anything on TV or print saying he was making a positive contribution.

Challenges are an area I will give everybody because it's a detailed item we know was tagged onto him with his arrival, though to be completely fair the 49ers as a whole were awful on challenges before his arrival, too. (Harbaugh, Marathe, and various OCs over the years).

Again, I'm talking about specific things that we know we can tag on him. I realize I'm being difficult to a small degree but I think it's a fair question since many of the Mangini criticisms are very broad and non-specific from what I have personally seen. If somebody doesn't like his personality, fine, I can live with that.

I absolutely love the man's personality. From my own experiences talking to fans I think Mangini is a very understood individual but I can't address every personality issue that everybody has so if anybody wants to call me out on something specific I can address it then.

The biggest area of concern that I have with Mangini as a coach, especially with him as a HC candidate, is his prior inability to connect with, reach troubled players, get along with and handle the younger type of player that is now in the NFL and I think ultimately that is his biggest problem running a team. This area is Mike Tomlin's biggest asset, or one of, his biggest assets. The two men in this area couldn't be any more difference in my opinion. It's unfortunate that kids are as difficult as they are these days, otherwise Mangini would've had a much better shot to succeed IMO.

I'm in the minority on a lot of things here, this being one of them. I'm not sure how well he'd do as coach, but I've liked Mangini. I say this obviously from an uninformed fan's perspective, so I can't defend it. I've seen him on ESPN and I've respected and have liked his analysis more than some others. But, again, what do I know?

I like him on TV. He's a smart football mind. I just don't get warm and fuzzies with him leading a team or building relationship with a wide range of players and personalities.
