Coaching Challenges

Post#1 » by MHSL82 » Sun Jan 4, 2015 1:39 am

I know this will never happen, but I think that coaches should either be able to challenge most anything or have to state an actual challenging reason that in itself is disputable.

What am I talking abou? I was a little upset with Arians challenging calls on the field when he's "not allowed to." Either he should be allowed to challenge almost any call or he shouldn't be able to challenge.

He's a smart guy so when the call doesn't allow him to challenge, he will just challenge something else. Once during a Kansas City game, the tight end fumbled the ball after being tackled. He could not challenge that aspect so he challenged that the throw was a complete pass. They saw the fumble on the review and called it as such. It would have given the Chiefs a chance to beat Arizona and that would've helped us.

Today, if what they said were true, which I don't think it was, he did the same thing but in the reverse when the opposing quarterback flipped the ball forward, and when trying to challenge whether that was a forward pass, they said that he challenged whether it was a complete pass or not. I don't think that actually happened, I think he was challenging whether it was forward or not, as referees explanation was.

When it's that obvious of a catch or not, I don't think you should be able to challenge for that in place of something else. Or you should be able to challenge almost anything.
