Get Peyton 3.0 Now that Harabugh is Gone?

Most of the NFL seems to think
Peyton Manning is about done. Denver is firing the entire coaching staff. They're cleaning house.
The Super Bowl next year is in Levi's Stadium.
Apparently Harbaugh was a reason Peyton didn't come to SF and waltz his way to multiple Super Bowl titles.
Harbaugh is gone. Should the 49ers try to see if
Peyton has one more year in him and offer a trade? I say hell yes if Denver is willing to listen. I'd even be willing to hire Adam friggn' Gase if they could pull that off.
I don't care that he's not what he used to be; at the age of 60 he'd still probably be better than
Kaepernick.
Draft a QB and see if they can get Peyton to try one last run in SF! Heck,
Justin Smith might even come back for that.

It does, but I wouldn't bet against Peyton throwing another 30+ TDs.
I don't know if he wants to face the Seahawks twice a year though

Yeah, I completely fail to see how this answers anything. Peyton and his career 11-13 postseason record (with 9 one and dones) only creates a bigger hurdle to clear for this team to get over the hump. Not to mention dude is gonna be 39 when next season starts.
Oh yeah and we can't forget that he got absolutely embarrassed last time he saw Seattle's defense in a big game (on a neutral field no less). Not exactly a good omen when considering who to bring to Frisco (same with Gase for that matter.)

The Hawks won the Josh Smith effect.

Unless we also get a qb who can win in the postseason no thanks. Peyton is like Marino or Arod big numbers in the regular season dud in the postseason. Which is why I laugh when people say Manning is the GOAT... Montana has 4 rings, a clutch comeback in a superbowl and never threw a pick in the Big game. Manning can have the numbers I'd take the rings... And in the New NFL Montana to Rice would be gaudy numbers as well.

Those are the 2 reasons the Broncos would give him away for next to nothing.
And we're not talking about getting an all-pro' QB here; we're talking about getting a QB who's better than
Kaepernick for 1 season.
It's either
Sanchez (not a good option),
Kaepernick (even worse), a rookie (even worse still) or
Peyton. He's leaps and bounds better than those other options, and if the Niners traded for him they wouldn't be on the hook for dead money when he retires. They wouldn't need the 2004 Peyton to win a SB if
JSmith came back; the defense would be good enough to carry the team like it's been doing.
Here's the bait: don't retire with fewer rings than your little brother.

No, Sickness, it isn't "Get Peyton Time" anymore.
Peyton has already won at the big stage and probably took a health risk even going to the Broncos, so why would he *really* care about getting a ring for SF? Peyton has zero loyalty or **** to give about an organization (SF) that showed little if any professional courtesy to the last staff before they'd even lost a single game.
P.S. Obviously don't know Peyton personally, but the idea of playing him off his brother sounds a bit too crass to actually work. Then again, I only have half brothers.

I don't care if he has loyalty or not. He'd be a hired gun. If he even plays next year, he knows he's not going to get a ring in Denver. SF would be his absolute best bet at getting ring #2 if he wants one. If he & Adam Gase got together for 1 more run, that'd be a hell of a lot better shot at getting a home Super Bowl than
Colin Kaepernick,
Sanchez or a rookie.
Peyton would be the only thing that would justify hiring Adam Gase.

3 years ago I was all about this. Not so much now. He'd get killed in nfc west dude c'mon.

True. QB turnover in the NFL West is rampant and a good amount of it is because of injury. I see him going to the Texans next year.

Ok, I'm in lockstep with you on Gase being pointless without Manning.

"Peyton Manning Played With Torn Quad Since Dec. 14"http://football.realgm.com/wiretap/3424 ... nce-Dec-14I only watched 3-4 Broncos games this year (none since December), but something was bothering the heck out of me watching Peyton try to hand the ball off vs Indianapolis. I thought I was going mad! Peyton was making a stick in the mud like Ryan Mallet look like an Olympic sprinter.

Peyton should play in AZ.... AZ is known for medical wizardry as well a good defense with a solid WR group

Yikes. The Cards would be a great team w/
Peyton.
So would the Niners though.

If he takes a pay cut I would be open to the idea but $19 million for a 39 year old rental is just too much and that cap space could be better utilized on younger players that will be around longer.
