Baalke answering questions on the 49ers at the combine. He didn't respond to Harbaugh's comments directly, but he did dispute a couple of things. He said the 49ers only offered the HC job to Tomsula, which implies that the 49ers did not offer the job to Gase as rumored. Baalke also stated the 49ers made no coaching mandates to HC candidates. disputing the Tomsula mandate to Gase.

That's all fine and well. But what I want to know is why are the 49ers planning to meet with Crabtree's agent at the Combine? For what? I cant give any good reason for wanting him back with the team next year. Nothing to talk about....To be honest, I am not even sure I want Gore back. Hurts me to say that, but I am just thinking from a business perspective. Carlos Hyde is going to be a beast, Kendall Hunter is under contract for one more season, and the draft is strong at RB in 2015....I would rather spend the money to re-sign Culliver and Skuta. Those two are really the only unrestricted free agents I want back. Better to save the money and extend the contracts of players like Aldon Smith and possibly Alex Boone. Crabtree can take a hike!

I would be really surprised if Crabtree is back. There are stories today stating it is highly unlikely Crabtree is going to be back next year

Right. No way they offer him what Boldin is making, 6 million a year. Boldin has earned every penny of it. Crabtree, aside from being injury prone, has underachieved period. I am completely fine going into 2015 with Boldin, Stevie, Patton, and Ellington, plus a draft pick perhaps. Unless they nab a WR in free agency. Think they go after Torrey Smith? He is a speedy WR and a legit deep threat. It be nice to reunite him and Boldin.
