They now need DL and LB depth.

Who should they target in FA? Torrey Smith is Great to replace Stevie Johnson, but who to replace Crabtree? A first round pick or a 2nd or 3rd and develop him?

The two retiring means $20 mill in cap space.

Right now, I'm looking at this prospect:

We aren't going to be able to fill everything right now. I still think that #15 has to be either WR or CB. DL and LB depth can be had later in the draft.

Exactly if Willis does retire we have our starting 4 lbs. No need to draft depth there. If Smith retires I'd really love them to go after Ngata. That would keep WR and CB our top need

call me something of the sorts of crazy.... but would anyone entertain(no source no outside speculation or rumors) trade the pick to the Texans for Clowney?

Two years ago, maybe. Today? Lol. We'll be lucky if we aren't last in the division. No point.

Do we use up the cap or roll over a lot to next year? Andre Johnson was released today, what would you think of Johnson and Torrey Smith? (And Boldin.) The money is freed up and if these defensive guys are gone, we have to make up for it offensively and draft defense (or draft offense and go get defense).

Are there any timing issues? Does it count against our cap if they officially retire after a certain date, as opposed to before? For example, if Manning retired tomorrow, he'd still get and count against Denver's cap the 15M restructured contract.

I would absolutely sign AJ wether we get Torrey or not. If Kaep couldnt get it done with them then we know 100% he gotta go.

I say sign Denarious Moore for the min and see if our new WR coach is any good. The kid was damn good and something broke.

I'd love to have Moore, and he's one of the hundred and sixty-two receivers (or something like that) that I was screaming to draft, but I wouldn't have any hope for it after signing Jerome Simpson, who as some will remember was ANOTHER one of the hundred plus guys I was advocating for in the draft. I may have missed what's going on upstairs in between Moore's ears, though.

man after today and more to come this weekend the 49ers have some shoes to fill. Might have to trade down from 15 and get more picks to get a good core of backups again. We one had deep depth all over the defense letting people go who could be starters on other teams and now we have to try and do that again. Hopefully those injured players the 49ers have been stashing on IR can come out and play and play well. Teams have been calling the 49ers cheaters for stashing players on IR and NFI List and now it looks like it was worth it.

Just from last years draft
Brandon Thomas
Trey Millard
Kenneth Acker
Keith Reaser
Kaleb Ramsey

Not to mention
Ian Williams
Glenn Dorsey
Jimmie Ward
Daniel Kilgore
Kendell Hunter
NaVarro Bowman
Vance McDonald
Fou Fonoti
Derek Carrier
Chuck Jacobs
Garrett Celek
