Was told earlier this month that Wright didn't want to be in SF if he wasn't a starter.

This signing along with Pears baffled me. He got 1M gtd too. Just mind boggling.

The funny thing is Baalke wishes he could trade him

Maybe we can get a high 1st Rd pick for him? Like I told my last waiter - my tip to you is to do your job a lot better.

I think it baffled almost every 49er fan. Both were ranked among the worst at their positions last year. The team initially thought Wright could be the starter. I guess they thought Wright could be Rogers 2.0.

That's exactly what Baalke thought because he brought up Rogers when it came to Wright.
The difference was that Rogers wasn't really all that bad with Washington but Wright was terrible with SD and the fact he couldn't crack the starting lineup despite his experience shows how bad he is.

Any way we can un-guarantee that salary?

Release them. Release ALL of them.

let him... bye... that signing was stupid as you can think of....
to be honest, didn't Wright ranked pretty low among CBs per PFF? that goes with Pears and eventually Devey...

Wright was given the starter's job in camp and he stunk it up. The FO needs to admit their mistake and release him. You could probably pick some scrub off the street who would play just as well.

Yes, Wright was ranked poorly and if I am not mistaken might have led the league in pass interference penalties last year.

Wright was dead last in PFF ratings. Yes, you read that right.....he was the worst CB.
Pears and Wright signings remind me of the movie Major League.

I think I understand now. Another GM bet him that he couldn't land all the value trap picks, and he absolutely nailed them.

Just release Wright already. He is easily replaced. Bench Pears also. I don't think he is ever going to get it.

If he'll pay back his bonus, fine, just cut him. He's not good, he's not young, he's not cheap. No reason for him to take up a roster spot.

He isn't going to play and he is disgruntled. I don't see how this is any good for morale. Seems like he would just be a cancer at this point. So cut him already. That money was flushed when they signed him.

If they are into investing millions of dollars in a useless CB, where's the quill pen and where do I sign?

Another LMJ.
"But he should want to play in games, right?" Yes, but this probably just means he's immature and sucks terribly. The current whining and the near breakneck pace of his demotion during the preseason speaks volumes.

When you're on the bench and finally get your chance it's a lot better to be quiet and strike out vs. being the constant complainer who strikes out. If he was put in at this point and got burned he'd be done. Just shut up and collect your paycheck.
